Type, Lens, Size & Weight

The Youpeck 1080p HD Webcam uses a flexible 360 rotation camera lens. It uses an F/N 2.1 large aperture that auto-focuses on its own and can be altered. The Youpeck 1080p PC Webcam only weighs 3.28 ounces, so it won’t weigh your laptop down. It isn’t particularly large either, with a dimension of 5.83 x 3.7 x 1.81 inches—about the size of a credit card.

Resolution & Display

This Youpeck web camera has 1080p HD video quality, though not quite as nice as the Logitech Brio 4K. The real kicker here is 5.H.264 encoding compression, which offers better image quality than other standards, and lacking in the Logitech C615. Its auto-light correction is especially nice, providing a clearer image than without.

Tripod & Image Stability

Unfortunately, the tripod bundled inside is poorly made. A few buyers experienced their tripods falling apart. When it does work, video calling or using it as a live-streaming webcam is possible, though impractical. It doesn’t have stiff legs, but rather flexible ones that can shake the camera from touching.

Optical Zoom, Microphone, Audio & Storage

The Youpeck webcam is strictly a prime lens. That means you won’t get to zoom in or out, unlike the Logitech C910, which has a 16x digital zoom. It does have a wide 110-degree view, though, which is quite a bit wider than the Logitech C925E at 78 degrees. Another gripe you might dislike is the lack of storage, as does the Logitech HD Pro Webcam C920. Thankfully, it has a built-in microphone. It’s average at best, though its noise reduction is top-notch.

Value

With video calling a necessity for work these days, this is by far one of the quickest ways to start showcasing your beautiful mug to your friends, family, and coworkers. And since it’s a USB plug-and-play model, it’s also one of the easiest to use too, in addition to a privacy cover. It supports Skype, FaceTime, YouTube, and even Zoom—all for $21!

Youpeck 1080p HD Webcam Wrap Up

Since the Youpeck 1080p HD Webcam clips to your laptop, the poor tripod can be largely forgotten. So what does leave you with? An affordable $21 webcam that does everything it needs: 1080p resolution, auto light correction, and bundles with a privacy cover. It solves most, if not all, of your problems!
