Woolet: A Smart Wallet that Self-Charges

I don’t know about you, but I lose my wallet just about hourly. Okay, so that might be an over-statement, but it’s a common problem among men. We covered another smart wallet named Where’s Wallet nearly a month ago, and now there’s another entrant into the smart wallet market: Woolet.

Woolet is an even slimmer wallet that notifies your phone and sounds an alarm when you walk too far away from your wallet. It keeps your cards safe, and even has a hidden pocket for cash. It’s powered by Bluetooth, and the wallet itself looks great. But where it differs from Where’s Wallet is what’s interesting. For one, it’s self-charging, so you never have to worry about changing a battery. Secondly, the wallet itself has a built-in ringer so that you can use it to track down your phone if you have your Wollet, too. And finally, Woolet has a distance tracking feature in the app that shows you just how far away your Woolet is and if you’re getting closer, and it’s accurate to within 1.3 feet. Woolet will have a companion app for both iOS and Android devices, so as long as your phone is capable of Bluetooth 4.0 or 4.1, you’ll be able to use Woolet.

The Woolet will come in sleek black and classic suede, both of which are made from the finest hand-dressed calf leather.

Wollet has already more than exceeded its initial Kickstarter goal of $15,000, and the project now has over $80,000 pledged with over 640 backers, and still growing. It is expected to ship in April 2015 for early birds and a month later for everyone else, but there’s still plenty of time to get behind the project on Kickstarter.

  1. A crap wallet and 2 giant trackers that don’t work at all latter, I’ve wasted a lot of money. Also, a keyring that causes my phone to vibrate 4 times a minute unless I’m connected to WiFi. If you’re thinking of buying a Woolet or any of their products, please don’t. Save yourself the money.
