To say the least, the debate about playing Call of Duty: Warzone with a controller or mouse is impassioned. However, there are clear advantages to either. But ultimately, your strengths and style of play should decide which type you go with.
Warzone’s battle royale format allows the controller and mouse & keyboard (M&K) users to battle on the same maps. The precision advantage is all keyboard and mouse. And it comes down to the range of movement. The nature of moving the mouse with the whole arm and using all five fingers on the keyboard means giving M&K users a leg up when it comes to quick reaction time. On the other hand, controllers force users to aim the analog stick with their thumbs, which provides a lower range of motion.
There’s a feature called “aim assist” that is perhaps the sole benefit of the controller player. But it’s a big benefit; some even say it leads to an unfair advantage.
Aim assist only works in certain situations and with certain weapons.
Aim assist adjusts the crosshairs of a battle rifle in close range and almost magnetically draws the user’s aim in for a kill shot. This feature is not available to mouse players and is the source of much contention in the gaming world. So, a console player may not have the accuracy advantage that an M&K _Warzone _player has, but the aim assist makes up for the inaccurate nature of the controller.
