Overview

First released in mid-2017, the Vitamix A3500 is a high-end full-size blender that supports nuts and ice-crushing. Unlike the most popular blenders in its category, it features a sharp four-bladed chopping system, along with a powerful 1640 watt motor.

But if you only need a small-scale blender for domestic use, our Vitamix ONE Blender review might be worth a look. And if you are instead looking for a handheld immersion blender, check out our Vitamix Immersion Blender review.

The A3500 comes with a 64 oz main jar that is fairly easy to clean by hand, dishwasher-friendly, and supports hot blending. The A3500 also comes with a dial-based digital control panel that offers exceptional fine-tuning capabilities along with an automatic timer mode.

In addition, its smartphone-based controls offer 17 presets alongside a pulse mode. However, at the max speed setting of 22800 RPM, it gets very loud at 93.5 decibels.

our Verdict

The well-built Vitamix A3500 blender is a powerhouse with its robust 1640-Watt motor, offering versatility for multipurpose use. Its large 64-ounce jar allows for blending in large batches, and the four sharp blades ensure the efficient breakdown of fibrous ingredients and nut butter into a smooth puree.

If you’re interested in a blender with six blades, check out our Ninja BL610 Professional Review. In addition to its blending capabilities, the A3500 can crush ice in less than 60 seconds and even blend hot soups.

Cleaning is a breeze as the jar lid and blade assembly are dishwasher safe, although it doesn’t come with extra jars or attachments. Unfortunately, the A3500 operates at 93.5 dB, according to testers, which is quite loud.

As both models feature a similarly powerful 1640 watt DC brushless motor, both the Vitamix A3500 and the Vitamix 5300 perform very similarly in almost all aspects. However, the A3500 blender does perform better than the 5300 while blending fibrous ingredients like kale and produces smoother textured smoothies than the 5300. The A3500 gets very loud at 93.5 dB, but it’s still quieter than the 5300 at max speed.

Despite the Breville The Q featuring a much more powerful 1800 watt DC brushless motor, the 1640 watt Vitamix A3500 has a better performance overall when it comes to crushing ice and blending fibrous materials. The Vitamix A3500 also has a better build quality, and its dial-based control panel allows for much broader fine-tuning compared to the Breville blender’s button-based controls. However, the Breville blender is easier to clean by hand.

Thanks to its slightly more powerful 1640 watt DC brushless motor, the Vitamix A3500 features better nuts and ice-crushing performance than the 1400 watt Ninja Professional Plus Kitchen System with Auto-IQ. Besides better build quality, the A3500 also supports hot blending, but the Ninja blender doesn’t. In addition, the Vitamix blender is easier to clean by hand than the Ninja model. However, the Ninja Professional Plus Kitchen System with Auto-IQ comes with four pitchers, whereas the A3500 has one.
