The Ultimate Sub Zero Sleeping Bag: the Canon -40

I think we can all agree that the best sleeping bags are the warm ones. True campers know that no temperature would ever deter them from spending a night in the wilderness.  I’ve done trips in the snow, which is to say I’ve slept outside, in a tent albeit, over night in some very cold temps.  While my body was toasty warm, my head and face froze since my sleeping bag only covered part of my head.  That’s why I need, or needed this sleeping bag from Nemo, the Canon -40.

Stuffed inside this bag of warmth, is 850-fill goose down from head to toe – yeah, it should keep you warm in even the most frigid of temperatures. The outer shell of the Canon -40 is crafted from 15 denier nylon that is treated with an ultralight waterproof/breathable coating on the back and “DWR” on the face that keeps moisture out.  A set of leg and arm slits allow you to easily move around, or cool off in the event that you start to overheat in the  Canon -40 – it’s also convenient if you wanna get frisky with your tent partner.

Slits in the side of The Nemo, the Canon -40 provide easy access to other camping gear.

When the temperature does drop to a face numbing level, you can zip up the entire bag, covering your head and face.  Air is provided through a specially designed chimney that is said to warm air before you breath it – a nice touch I might add.  There is also a special pocket located near the head that can hold an alarm clock, or perhaps a flask or condoms – you know, the stuff you need in a moment’s notice while camping.  Lastly, the foot area has been insulated against additional moisture – God forbid – and it weighs just 4 lb 7 oz.

The Canon -40 from Nemo is expected to hit stores this Fall for $999.
