Traxxas XO-1 Remote Control Supercar

Not everybody can experience the thrilling horsepower and speed of a Bugatti Veyron. That’s why we have the best RC cars for kids, so we can all experience these cars in a smaller form. But the Traxxas XO-1 Remote Control Supercar offers fans a small taste of what it would be like with its high-speed insanity. The XO-1 Remote Control Supercar is supposed to be the world’s fastest ready-to-run, electric RC supercar, with Traxxas saying that it can go from 0-60 mph in just 2.3 seconds and tops out at speeds over 100 mph.

For only $1,100, the 1 is complete out of the box, including a Traxxas/Castle brushless-electric motor called the Big Block. It generates 3.5 horsepower and can spin to 40,000 rpm. It only weights 12.3 pounds and can be upgraded with a pair of 0.09-kWh lithium-polymer batteries ($160 each, plus $10 for the mounting kit) in place of standard 0.06-kWh packs for more range. You can get a fast charger that juices the batteries to max amounts in two hours for $130 more.

The XO-1 is also equipped with the world’s most advanced Ready-To-Race radio system with a Docking Base that turns your iPhone or iPod touch into a powerful tuning tool. It links with the Traxxas Link™ App to deliver an intuitive, high-definition, full-color graphical user interface that optimizes your radio system for ultimate vehicle control, which the company says is for only those who are skilled experts with exceptional hand-eye coordination. (You wouldn’t let your kid play with the $1K-plus toy would you?)

The app provides control over the operation and tuning of XO-1 with an intuitive, high definition graphical user interface. Once you have created the perfect control settings for your model, you can save them as a profile that you can restore later, use on another model, or share with friends. It also transmits real-time data including speed, RPM, temperature, and battery voltage with stunning visuals.
