If you’re looking for the best segways to buy for your kids, the Swagtron T580 Self Balancing Bluetooth Hoverboard easily fits the bill. Not only does it provide performance that falls well within range for fun and games, but it also does so with a price that’s hard to argue with. This can easily be a kid’s first segway. The Swagtron T580 provides fun with its Bluetooth speakers, moderate speed, and lightweight build all for an honest price tag.
When it comes to performance, the Swagtron T580 Hoverboard doesn’t exactly impress us. But for a kid? Absolutely! Its motor power is pretty average, only pushing the self-balancing scooter up to 7.5 mph. That’s not super fast, but it is fast enough for a kid just learning how to use one.
There’s even several riding modes for different experienced riders, such as learning mode, standard mode, and advanced mode. That’s nice, considering you can’t add an AUBESTKER Handlebar Kickstand Kit to it; otherwise, you’re still getting a smooth ride. Perhaps not as smooth as, say, a Segway Ninebot S or Segway MiniLite, but again, good enough for a small child.
Even with the T580’s lightweight design, it’s a rather durable piece of equipment, and looks good with its curves, divots, and blue, red, and black finish. Given that it’s built with Bluetooth speakers, it has to be tough. You wouldn’t want it breaking after a few rides.
For another red hoverboard, you’ll want to check out the Gotrax SRX hoverboard. And, for one in shining gold, have a look at the Swagtron T3.
The biggest negative against the Swagtron T580 is its smart battery. It doesn’t last very long, only running for about 50 minutes. For a child, though, that’s plenty of time to goof around with it. This best hoverboard for kids can still give you peace of mind if you don’t want your child running off with it due to the shorter battery life.
With that said, if you’d prefer scooters with a battery life that lasts 2 hours or more, check out our Tomoloo hoverboard review and our Skque self-balancing scooter review.
Even with a low battery, the Swagtron T580 has a lot of value—especially if you’re looking to purchase one for your kids. It goes fast enough for a child to be fun, but not very dangerous, and it’s even a Bluetooth speaker that can play music. What more would a kid want? They get to ride in style!
Furthermore, it’s Ul2272 certified, which means it passed a rigorous set of safety tests, providing excellent protection against fire and electrical hazards. And it does this all at a very affordable price.
The Swagtron T580 is a fair-priced little workhorse that can easily complement the feet of children. It’s lightweight, plays music, and goes fast enough to be fun, but not overly dangerous. True, its battery is on the lower side, but an hour is still plenty of time to ride around for a while—especially if it gets your kids outside and enjoying the sun.
