Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard), Dustin Henderson (Gaten Matarazzo), Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin), and Will (Noah Schnapp) are the main characters of this series. They were just kids living their lives playing dungeons and dragons when they were hit with some strange phenomenon as their friend Will goes missing. Later on, they meet Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and Jim Hopper (David Harbour) and they will help them try to get Will back. Aside from the kids, one of the more supportive parental roles throughout the series is Will’s mom, Joyce Byers, played by Winona Ryder. After this series, consider watching Breaking Bad if you would like to see more suspenseful shows.

The Duffer Brothers produced this show. You will see epic sci-fi creatures like the Demogorgon show up unexpectedly. This series is unique because the main actors fit the age role of their characters in the series all the way till season three. While the series mostly deals with suspenseful situations between the boys, there will be moments where they take some time to be boys, and their playfulness with each other will bring some comedy. If you are looking for more of a comedy show, the animated series Big Mouth is a great cartoon about kids going through puberty.

The first season will show a good amount of strange activity that will get any sci-fi fan hooked on. Stranger Things feels like new age goosebumps. As the series unfolds, events will seem very mysterious, but as the gang gains more information, the paranormal activity will begin to make sense. There is now a third season available on Netflix, so the best time to catch up is now.
