Overview

First released back in early 2018, the SteelSeries Rival 600 is an entry-level wired gaming mouse that boasts a right-handed design along with an ergonomic design with rubber grips on both sides for comfort. Unfortunately, it only has a 6.8 feet long detachable USB cable made of rubber, which, unlike most of the best computer mouse options available in its range today, suffers from mouse drag. But it does have manually customizable RGB lighting, which you can adjust using the SteelSeries Engine 3 app, similar to many popular gaming mouse models.

If you want a wired gaming mouse from the same brand that does not suffer from the same cable drag, then make sure to take a look at our SteelSeries Rival 5 review. The SteelSeries Rival 600 mouse has nine different programmable buttons, including the clickable scroll wheel. And the mouse features a customizable 12000 DPI optical sensor.

What the brand doesn’t always tell you…

our Verdict

The SteelSeries Rival 600 is a great option for casual gamers looking for a durable wired mouse with a right-hand-friendly ergonomic design. It has a cheap feeling rubber notched 24-stepped RGB scroll wheel and doesn’t have L/R tilting buttons for horizontal scrolling. And it works with the comprehensive SteelSeries Engine 3 customization software for RGB and button controls. It also sports an extremely accurate 12000 DPI TrueMove 3 optical sensor that is adjustable in 100 increments. For its wireless version, visit our SteelSeries Rival 650 review.

Weighing in at 105 grams, the Rival 600 is relatively heavy, which holds it back from the competitive scene. And it has a fairly low click latency of 13 ms for fast responsiveness. Moreover, it has a comfortable design for all grip types.
