Why We Like It – Solomark Night Vision Monocular

The Solomark Night Vision Monocular is a useful nighttime companion that can pierce through the darkness and show you what’s around you. You can use it for your own safety, for hunting, or use it creatively and shoot some photos and videos. It is a blue infrared illuminator that can capture shots up to 100 meters into darkness.

  • Includes an 8GB micro SD card so you can store your photos and videos
  • Illumination Flexibility can switch from 7 levels to have proper brightness
  • Capture size is only about 640×480

Image Quality

The screen resolution on these monocular blue infrared illuminator goggles is 320×240 while the image and video resolution are 640×480. It has a field of view of 14 degrees, which may not be as immersive as other products with a larger field of view. The low light sensitivity will help to show you an image even in the dimmest conditions. If you peek into the screen inside the monocular, the integrated color LCD screen will vividly show you the area. From there you can adjust between 7 levels of brightness and find the optimal level for you. If you aren’t as interested in the Solomark digital night vision goggles, then you may want to take a look at the Vazussk 2″ HD Digital Binoculars.

Ease of Use

After turning on the goggles by using the dial on the side, you can see around you through the eyepiece while simultaneously using the focus ring located at the bottom. On top of the device, you will see buttons that control the zoom, shutter, brightness, and camera mode. When you’ve captured your content for the night, you can use the USB port to connect to your computer or insert the 8GB SD card included with your purchase into it. If you are more of a daytime traveler, you may want to look at alternatives that will help you see at that time of day such as the Camonity 5M 2″ LCD 16GB.

Battery Life

To power up these goggles, you will need 4 AA batteries, which are not included. You will find the compartment for the batteries at the bottom of the device. Battery usage may vary depending on whether you spend the whole time recording or taking pictures. Unfortunately, this is the same for most loose-battery devices like the VTech Children’s digital camera. If you would rather find a pair of binoculars that uses an internal battery rather than batteries, then you may want to check out the Gosky 10×42 Roof Prism Binoculars.

Fortunately, the Solomark binoculars come with a carrying case so you can safely carry your device around. Amazon offers a protection plan on the night vision monocular blue infrared illuminator goggles so even if you lose them you may still be able to get them replaced. As long as you are willing to carry some spare or rechargeable batteries you can keep these goggles powered up throughout your whole time. Alternatively, if you just want an instant camera for taking fun pictures, then check out our review of the Canon IVY Cliq.

The blue infrared illuminator allows viewing in the dark which is sure to be an adventure on its own. You can document your findings by using the camera functions. If you are a first-time hunter, this will give you an advantage over animals that don’t have as great of a view at night. You will have the option to adjust between several levels of brightness on the IR illuminator to produce high-quality results. If you would like to use these goggles with a stand, you may purchase a tripod mount for it. Make sure to read some more reviews before you decide if this is the product for you.
