The Sennheiser HD 6XX headphones are well-built, lightweight, and have soft pads, making them moderately comfortable. But the headphones have a tight fit, which can get tiring after long usage. Design-wise, they boast a durable construction and adjustable clamp force.

Like most open-back designs, these headphones have a warm, open sound profile, great for mids and trebles. However, they also struggle to provide a deep bass.While they excel in studio-like listening experiences, they are not ideal for on-the-go use due to their lack of any controls and an ANC feature and have poor sound leakage.

When tested, the headphones had a very bad overall attenuation of -3.1 dB, which is super low. They also leak a lot of noise, making them ideal for office settings. Another two main drawbacks are the headphone’s lack of customization features and a microphone.

The Sennheiser HD 6XX is a high-end open-back over-the-ear wired headset that was first brought to the market back in early 2021, and it promises an incredibly broad stereo soundstage for instrument separation, which will please music enthusiasts.

Unlike some of the best headphones on the market, these headphones come with dynamic drivers for analog stereo audio. But just like most highly rated over-the-ear headphones in its category, it features velvet ear pads for breathability.

However, if you prefer faux leather ear pads instead, our Sennheiser HD 4.40 BT review would be worth a look. The Sennheiser HD 6XX headphones come with a detachable TRS audio cable that you can easily replace in case it gets damaged. But sadly, it does not have in-line controls. These headphones also do not feature active noise canceling or any means of wireless connectivity like Bluetooth out of the box.
