Samsung announced the Galaxy Note 4 Edge at IFA 2014

Samsung unveiled a number of products at their Unpacked event at IFA 2014. Alongside the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy Note 4, the company also unveiled a new device with a curved display dubbed as the Galaxy Note 4 Edge. Well, it’s not similar to the Galaxy Round, but feature a curve on one side of the display, providing quick access to recent apps, notifications, alerts and more, even if the flip cover is on.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Edge also boasts a similar set of specifications as the standard Note 4. There’s a 5.6-inch Super AMOLED display sporting a resolution of 2560 x 1440 + 160 pixels. Under the hood, there’s a 2.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 805 chipset with 3GB of RAM and 32/64GB storage, coupled with a microSD card support of up to 128GB, and runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat as its operating system out of the box.

As far as the photographic capabilities are concerned, there’s a 16MP camera on the back with optical image stabilization, as well as a 3.7MP wide angle front-facing camera. Compared to the Galaxy Note 4, the Note 4 Edge comes with a smaller 3,000 mAh battery. The handset also comes with S Pen functionality, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, IR Remote, and NFC.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Edge will be available in two colors: Charcoal Black and Frost White. Unlike the standard version, the Galaxy Note 4 Edge will hit retail in select markets via Samsung’s retail channels, e-commerce and carriers later this year. The company didn’t provide an exact launch date for the Galaxy Note 4 Edge, but it seems it will only launch in Korea and US if we were to guess. We’ll update you as soon as we get any information about its launch.
