Why We Like It – Razer Raptor 27

The Razer raptor 27 monitor puts performance first and foremost by providing quick reaction times and refresh rates for today’s high-performance video games. This monitor will look good regardless of the angle you are watching it in. It also uses technology by Nvidia to bring you clear graphics that may bring you one step closer to victory.

Pros
  • 95% DCI P3 color gamut will bring out vibrant and accurate colors
  • 144hz refresh rate provides butter-smooth graphics
Cons
  • Not wall mountable

Performance

This 27” inch screen size monitor has a capped resolution of 2560×1440, which is similar to the LG 27UK 650 W 27-inch 4K gaming monitor. It uses a max refresh rate of 144hz and Nvidia G Sync to bring an end result with smoother graphics and no screen tearing. It also supports HDR400 which enhances the color spectrum for the monitor. It has an RGB lighting design on the bottom of the monitor and the back so that it looks colorful and vibrant while sitting on your desk. For any devices you connect to this monitor, you have a cable management system in the back to properly organize yourself. If you prefer monitors with more of a visual aesthetic, two other models you may enjoy are the Alienware AW3418DW and the Samsung 27 inch CRG5 240Hz curved gaming monitor.

Viewing angle

The image quality on this monitor is superb because it uses an IPS panel type of screen widely known for producing great visuals and viewing angles. The device has a 95% DCI P3 color, so expect a vivid color space that immerses you deeper into your content. With a 1ms response time, ghosting and motion blur will be problems of the past. If this 27” inch monitor is not big enough for you, a better choice may be to go with the Acer Predator XB321HK.

Durability

Customers raved about the build on this monitor because it does not resemble the average plastic feel from competing models. The tough build on this monitor will reassure that it does not break after a minor bump or fall. You can always go the extra step of asking your retailer for any possible protection plan for your investment.

Ports/expandability

Razer’s Raptor 27 inch model has a single DisplayPort, a couple of HDMI ports, a USB C input, and two USB type 3.0 ports. This is not unlike the Samsung 27-inch curved monitor LC27JG56QQNXZA, which you can read more about in our review.

Value

While it may be on the more expensive end, there is no doubt that this Razer monitor has what it takes to put you ahead of the curve when it comes to gaming. With less input lag, and crisp graphics you will be able to see and react to competitors easier. While the monitor is not in use, it will still add some spunk to your day by filling your room with its bright light show. This is a great monitor because the viewing angles allow anyone to astonish over the engineering in the game rather than soak in poor viewing angles that don’t do the game justice. Although, if you are not ready to make a financial commitment to this monitor, you may want to look at other options like the Viewsonic XG2402.

Razer Raptor 27 Wrap Up

The Razer Raptor 27 is a great investment for gamers on any level because it will bring immersive visuals for your games while giving you the benefits of a fast reaction time and no input lag, bringing you closer to a win. While it may be a hefty investment, it is worth every penny to have a powerful reliable gaming monitor on your side that will last a very long time.
