Is the Razor E300 Really As Good They Say?

Razor E300 Electric Scooter Review

This is a solid electric scooter for any child 12 years or older.

Razor is a trusted brand in the industry, making hoverboards, scooters, and other vehicles. They have a reputation for making safe and durable products like the Razor e100, Razor e200, Razor E300S scooter, and the Razor E325 electric scooter. The E300S and E325 are especially popular. Read the Razor E300S electric scooter review to learn about this seated version. Alternatively, for a non-electric option, read our Razor A5 Lux kick scooter review.

Pros:

  • Maximum Speed Of 15 miles per hour
  • Supersized Deck
  • Chain Driven Motor

Cons:

  • Doesn’t Climb Uphill Very Well

Razor E300 Build Quality And Design

The build quality of this personal transport is very good. The brushed steel frame feels solid but not overly heavy. This electric scooter weighs 40 pounds and has a rider weight limit of 220 pounds. This electric scooter is clearly not streamlined and sleek, focusing more on durability than style. If you want something flashy, look elsewhere. But the build is decent and should last a long time. The deck is nice and large, which is perfect since this is not a seated electric scooter with a removable seat. It also has a retractable kickstand. If you want a seated version, you will want to ride the Razor E300S. Be aware that there is minimal assembly required when you get your new scooter, but it is a very simple process.

How Powerful Is The Razor E300?

The 250 W high-torque, chain-driven electric motor provides all the power a kid needs to tool around the neighborhood, with a top speed of 15 miles per hour. I was surprised at how quiet the motor is, and the twist grip acceleration control is very responsive to speed control, as is the hand-operated rear wheel brake. The E300 scooter also has nice big wheels that are 10 inches pneumatic tires that are extra wide. This makes for a smooth ride. It performed great on asphalt and grass, but it has trouble going up steep hills.

Battery Life

The battery life will give you 40 minutes of continuous runtime per charge, which isn’t the best out there, but plenty of time for kids to have fun and then charge up again. Kids aren’t going to use this motorized scooter as a commuter scooter, after all, so they don’t need a more robust battery system. Charging time is 12 hours the first time. Battery charging after that is about 10 hours.

Bottom Line and Razor E300 Review Wrap Up

This kid’s electric scooter is decent, with a build quality that will keep your kid riding it for a long time, but it is very basic. I don’t mind that at all because Razor chose to focus on performance here over style. The supersized deck and frame are big pluses. A larger deck means easier riding. It also has a perfect maximum speed for kids at 15 miles per hour. I really loved that the chain-driven motor was so quiet. And those pneumatic tires give a comfortable ride. That brushed steel frame is solid. This top electric scooter is a great example of Razor’s devotion to quality, and it shows why they are so trusted and popular. Razors electric scooters are top of the line. Some popular models include the Razor E325 electric scooter. Parents will love that it is safe, and kids will love how well it performs. This scooter is a great value for your money. The Razor E300 electric scooter blue version is my favorite, but it also comes in red. It’s a great model to give your child before they move on to folding bikes, larger scooters, or something like electric unicycles or an electric bike. If you want a seated version, check out the Razor E300S seated electric scooter. While adults can ride this motorized kid’s scooter, I would recommend they get a scooter for adults.
