Performance

What stands out as the Rabbit Air MinusA2’s selling point is the amazing 6-layer air filtration unlike that of many other air purifiers. It starts off with a Pre Filter which holds off all the large particles including dust mites as well as pet hair, and not to worry as it is completely washable allowing it to last a long time. Moving onto the next filters you get a Medium Filter and the Advanced BioGS HEPA filter. While the Medium filter captures all the large mold and dust particles along with pollen and pet danders that are small enough to pass through the Pre filter, the Advanced HEPA filter ensures that 99.97% of virus particles, microns allergens, pollen, fungi and mold particles are trapped within it, and never reach your immune system. And thanks to the double pre-filtration before reaching the Hepa filter, the Rabbit MinusA2 air purifier ensures greater durability of the HEPA filter cutting down on your yearly filter costs. At most you may even expect it to last upto 2 years, unlike the few months offered by True HEPA filters from other brands.

Moving on to the next filter we have a customized filter which gives you the option to choose from a number of filters each of which are more than capable in their own respective fields. The choices range from a germ defense filter, stopping bacteria and deadly viruses from ever reaching those with weak immune systems, a toxin absorber as well as a pet allergy filter. While the captures Volatile organic compounds from paint and such, the pet allergy filter traps those pet danders and allergens which roam around in your home. You even get a odor remover which is great for removing the smell from paints, cooking or even cigarettes.

Moreover, while you can choose that, the next filter in the standard lineup is a carbon filter removing odours smokes as well as chemical vapours. This is further followed by the final Ion Generator filter which allows the harmful particles to be captured more easily by the air purifier or just fall down on the ground by making them heavier with attaching ions. This may raise the concern of ozone emission for those with asthma, but be rest assured as the amount of ozone emitted is 25 times less than the standard limit of California at about 0.002ppm, but if you think you’d rather just not have the ion generator than to make it much more easy, the Rabbit Air MinusA2 offers you a on and off switch for it.

Furthermore, as we come to look at the room coverage capability of the MinusA2, you must know that there are two models of it. Firstly, you have the less expensive, SPA-700A which covers upto 700 square feet and then the slightly higher priced model, the SPA-780 A/N which offers you a room coverage area of upto 815 square feet. This is a lot but do keep in mind that we also need to take into factor the CADR(Cleaning Air Delivery Rate) as well as the ACH(Air changes per round) offered by each model to understand how efficient they truly are.

The SPA-700A comes with a CADR reading of 181/161/171 cfm for Dust Smoke and Pollen respectively. As for the SPA-780 A/N, you get a rating of 200/193/208 for Dust, smoke and pollen respectively. And so paired with this we can assume that the MinusA2 SPA-780A/N can offer the best performance in a room of around 300 sq ft, making sure the air is as clean as can be by any air filter in the similar price range. But, even so it can still manage to keep 815 sq feet of an area clean, just in a longer time. And while all of this makes the Rabbit Air MinusA2 more than capable in cleaning the air in your home, you also get a number of features to make using it a whole lot more convenient.

Coming to the controls offered on it, you can access it in three different ways, starting from the labelled and easy to understand on board controls and then moving onto the slightly limited use of a remote control before going onto the App allowing you to control and monitor the air purifier through your phone. You can easily activate and deactivate the filters while also monitoring the air quality as well as the life of the filters, all through the simple yet elegant app on your phone. The device itself also has an LED life indicator for each filter showing you when you need to get a replacement, whilst also using a smart light sensor to automatically transition into a sleep mode in the dark.

Finally, the Rabbit Air MinusA2 even comes with a bunch of features to conserve power and the noise of the fans. A brushless direct current motor implementation makes sure the fans run quietly while the 5 different fan speeds, varying the energy star rated power consumption from 7 to 47Watts, makes the Ultra Quiet Air purifier name not just an advertising strategy. This makes sure that the motor doesn’t overheat allowing the fans on the purifier to run as smoothly and quietly as they can, varying from a noise level of 25.6 dB to 51.3 dB depending on the fan speed. ”

Design

Looking as good as it performs, the Rabbit Air MinusA2 is a form of addition to your home’s interior design thanks to the many different designs and prints it is available in. You can choose from the Claude Monet and Van Gogh painting to even the Hello Kitty special edition model to make it so that when you mount the MinusA2, which is fairly easy to do, it’s both a painting and air purifier. As for the build of the device, it measures to have dimensions of 20.25 x 21.4 x 7 inches as per air purifier review from HealthybutSmart which is part of the Amazon Services LLC, affiliate advertising program. This is not too compact, but it won’t be an issue if you use it as a form of decoration with the added painting, and as it weighs just 19.4lbs you can easily move it whenever you want to.

Moreover, the Rabbit Air MinusA2 also comes with a number of special features which range from an LED mood light on its front panel that gives it a nice look in the dark to the easy controls and LED life indicators for the filters. And so with all that packed into it’s pretty sleek and simultaneously aesthetic design, the Rabbit Air MinusA2 is an added decoration besides being an air purifier.

Value

Coming up at around $550 for the SPA-700 A and going upto $620 for the 780 A/N, the Rabbit Air MinusA2 is most certainly not cheap. You can get the Honeywell HPA300, Austin Air HealthMate Standard HM-400 as well as the Coway AP-1512HH Mighty Air Purifier for almost $300 less. But despite being high priced, the Air MinusA2 does live up to its price. It offers you some of the best filters lasting almost two years and costing you around $45 every year or so, and considering the amount of performance, functionality and the solid build quality you get, the Rabbit Air MinusA2 is a great air purifier well worth its price if you want the best performance.

Rabbit Air MinusA2 Wrap Up

While it may not be the cheapest Air Purifier out there, the Rabbit Air MinusA2 is an air purifier that comes with a whole lot of smart features along with the 6 different filters which make the air in your home extremely pristine. The yearly cost does turn out to be worth it and with the added functionality, a good amount of room coverage as well as solid yet good looking design, the Rabbit Air MinusA2 is your go to for one of the best performing air purifiers out there.
