Push: A Wallet For Your iPhone 5S That Makes Sense

Honestly, as much as I love Kickstarter, I find the fad for iPhone wallets that sweep the site with painful regularity annoying and tiresome. I just don’t see the appeal of being able to lose your phone, your identification, and your credit cards in one shot, especially when you can show all of them off at once to people who want to steal them. But I love hidden drawers, so the Push is an iPhone wallet I get.

An iPhone Wallet With Privacy

The Push addresses one very large design flaw with many iPhone wallets; you have to flip your phone over to see what you’ve got… and whether anything fell out. So the Push is a front-facing wallet with a drawer that slides open from the side. It’s discreet, and more importantly, it’s contained; no more missing cards.

Hard Shells, Bright Colors

As you may have guessed, this is also an iPhone case, but while this isn’t exactly shockproof, it is at least sturdier than your typical “tooled leather” case for your cards and your iPhone. Another nice touch is that it’s coming in six colors and exclusive art versions will be available. It’s also engineered to be slim enough to take with you in armbands, if you use your iPhone for music.

An iPhone Wallet That Makes Sense

There is still the problem of phone loss, of course: If you’ve got everything in your phone, losing that will be a disaster. So the Push is really more for people who either need a backup card stored somewhere handy, or plan to take their iPhone jogging and don’t want to be weighed down by a wallet. But unlike a lot of these wallets, it’s genuinely well designed and handy. If you want one, though, you’ll have to act fast: The Kickstarter only has 35 days, and it starts at $28.

  1. I don’t get these phone/wallet ideas. Conceptually it makes sense you are saving pocket space but where I used to just worry about losing my phone or my wallet now you can lose both at the same time.
