When you think about how much time we spend sitting in our office chairs every day, you realize the importance that a good chair has on your health. It should be ergonomic, with proper lumbar support, and also comfortable. This not only keeps us healthier, but also makes us more productive. The Poly and Bark Inverness Ergonomic Chair is a good choice and is one of the best office chairs under $300. If you want a chair that could double as a desk, take a look at how Altwork is a crazy expensive, crazy versatile, workstation.
It is also a great contender for the best ergonomic office chair. Is it a great contender for the best office chair? Read on to find out.
The Poly and Bark Inverness chair is made with a focus on comfort. It is ergonomic in almost every way and very adjustable. The breathable mesh on the seat and backrest allows air to flow, adding to the user’s comfort level. It’s good-looking and ticks all of the right boxes for what I want in an office chair. It looks beautiful and the price is awesome, but is it really worth it? I used this chair during working hours for a month and I have the answers below. To compare with another high-quality office chair, take a look at Herman Miller’s Setu chair (another overpriced piece of office furniture).
This chair looks just as good in real life as it does in the images online. It is stylish and fits into any office space or decor. For the budget price, this office chair is surprisingly high quality. Everything from the chrome-plated 5-star steel base upwards is built solid and sturdy.
One of the things that I loved most about this task chair is how easy it was to adjust everything. The high back seat has a dial for adjusting seat height, tilt and depth. All you need to do is push the button corresponding to the setting you want, then turn the wheel until you hit your comfort level. Unlike the Office Factor reception guest chairs that can’t be adjusted, you’ll find full adjustability on other mesh chairs such as the Office Star Deluxe mesh drafting chair and the Setra Essential mesh low-back computer desk chair.
The armrests swivel, move forward and back and adjust up and down. The headrest is adjustable to any position you want as well. To top off its great ergonomic design, there is even a hand rack on the back of the seat for suit jackets. You don’t see that every day. Compare that with the Steelcase amia office chair that comes in many colors as well as with a sleek design.

If you are looking for an ergonomic chair under $300, this is a fantastic choice. While it is heavy, that is because of the quality. Some might not like the weight if they want to move the chair from room to room, but the easy-to-roll casters greatly improve chair mobility. The armrests aren’t padded, but that didn’t bother me. The backrest has a breathable mesh fabric and it also boasts built-in lumbar support for an extra-comfortable experience. This is a great chair at a great price. But for other great options, you may also compare it to any of the best office stools.

I love how easily adjustable this chair is and that they went the extra mile with the hand rack in the back. Most importantly it is comfortable and offers the right lumbar support. The fact that it is a sub $300 chair is just a nice bonus. The Inverness is an office chair that you can work in for hours while feeling good.
