Is the iPhone dock really dead? Philips doesn’t think so, and to affirm their position they kicked out a handful of iPhone 5 Lightning Dock compatible speakers.
At the top of the list is the Philips Lifestyle Music System (DCM2067) – not pictured. It’s said to be an elegant and slim design fit for any modern interior. The included Lightning dock is retractable when not in use, which might very well be the case if you opt to playback music from the CD player or FM radio. Total power output is 20w RMS.
Philips Portable Docking Speaker (DS7580 – pictured above) is designed to fit in just about any bag, utilizes Philip’s wOOx technology (previously seen in their ShoqBox), and includes a rechargeable battery that should kick out tunes for up to 8-hours on a single charge.
The Philips Room to Room Docking Speaker’s (DS3205) details are a bit scant, but we’re told that it incorporates neodymium speakers, and clearly a very Philips radial like design.
Last on the list, and perhaps the most useful, is the Philips Bedroom Docking Speaker (DS1155 – pictured below). The speakers are situated in a 360-degree layout for room filling sound, and is complemented by a clock that syncs with your iPhone 5. For those with a second USB device fear not, as there is a standard USB port on its rear, allowing you to charge your partner’s handset over night, or at anytime.
Word is that most of the aforementioned Philip’s Lightning Speaker docks will hit this month and start $90.
