To take pictures or take selfies, you need good white lighting. It brightens up the darkest shadows for a good shot, but what if you’re out and about, and natural lighting isn’t an option? Why, the OURRY Selfie Ring Light is the answer. It’s the best selfie light to have on you to take great photos, thanks to its compact size, performance, and price.

Why We Like It – OURRY Selfie Ring Light

The OURRY Selfie Ring Light is a compact and surprisingly versatile selfie light ring capable of providing the necessary lighting you need when you’re surrounded by poor lighting.

  • Multiple lighting options
  • 360-degree rotation
  • Compact design
  • Might not be bright enough

Take one look at the OURRY Selfie Ring Light and you won’t believe the number of settings available compared to other selfie ring lights. For starters, there are 9 lighting effects to cycle through. It does have adjustable brightness—three brightness levels—so you’ll always have the right setting necessary to take high-quality photos with friends or great selfies. It definitely packs more punch than LED camera lights and selfie lights like the Auxiwa Clip On Selfie Ring Light.

The LED bulbs run on a rechargeable battery. Its battery life can handle a solid 2 hours of runtime at the brightest setting before the rechargeable batteries need juiced again. A MicroUSB cable does come with the package, which is pretty nice. It gets bright, but not quite as bright as a UBeesize 8” Selfie Ring Light or Aptoyu 8” LED Selfie Ring Light, but those are meant for at-home studios anyways.

Just like the Korbatech MiLite selfie ring light, the best part about the OURRY Selfie Ring Light is its design. It’s compact and will clip onto a phone or laptop. The design is much more versatile, as compared to a Qiaya selfie ring light, which uses a stationary tripod. To make use of its settings, all you use is the power button itself. It’ll cycle through the various settings pretty easily. And it’s so compact that it can be easily stored, unlike the bulky Lomography Spinner 360. There’s also a MicroUSB port so it can be clipped to other devices like a tablet laptop or desktop if you need a bit of extra light. If you’re using your phone camera, it has a space for your camera to shoot through so it doesn’t block the shot.

After considering all of its multiple lighting effects, brightness settings, compact design, and overall performance, we have no problem marking this rechargeable selfie light as having superb value. This is especially true for people who like to vlog on the go and just so happen to be in a poorly lit location, or taking photos at night. And it’s so hands-off. Simply clip it to your cell phone and the light comes out after pressing the power button. It would pair well with a phone holder.

OURRY Selfie Ring Light Wrap Up

For anyone needing an LED selfie light on the go, the OURRY Selfie Ring Light is such a great workhorse for taking selfies. Its compact design hides its laundry list of lighting effects and brightness levels, while its 360-degree rotation allows it to be used as a flashlight if need be. The selfie light gets really bright at its highest setting, but for some, it might not be bright enough; otherwise, the OURRY Selfie Ring Light is one of the best portable ring lights available.
