5 Reasons Why You’ll Want the OM/ONE Magnetically Floating Speaker (list/video)

With so many Bluetooth speakers on the market, it’s hard to really stand out from the rest. That is until OM/ONE came into play. This one of our top Bluetooth speaker in not an ordinary one…it’s a levitating one!  Yeah, you read that right…it’s a rotating orb that floats in air as it blasts your favorite tunes thanks to its magnetic base. Here’s a reason why it’s one of the best portable bluetooth speaker devices for your desk.

1. You’re Be The Popular Guy At Work

This cool looking speaker will be the talk of your office, with everyone “visiting” your desk to check it out and see how it works. You might even get that hottie you’ve been eyeing for a while to finally talk to you about something other than work. And, it’ll impress clients and your boss.

2. Quality Audio

OM Audio is pretty reputable in the industry, known for their high-end audio accessories like the Inearpeace earphones and Mantra speakers. It outputs a full 110 decibels with a 3W RMS amplifier. This also gives OM/ONE industry leading battery life without sacrificing audio performance, which can be up to 15 hours of continuous playback at 70% volume. Apparently, the levitating effect also helps produce better audio via a lower-power driver since any nearby objects not absorbing any sounds it emits. And if you really want to get down and party (with the disco version, of course), get two of them together for full stereo sound!

3. Good Looks

The OM/ONE comes in three different colors: black, white and disco ball silver (my personal favorite). And if you’re a Star Wars fan, you’ll definitely dig the black since it looks like the Death Star. The disco ball one will make your office the new “hangout.”

4. It’s Portable

You can let it levitate above its magnetic base on your desk while at work and then take it home to enjoy music there. It’s up to you, which is pretty handy for days you need a portable speaker when you’re out and about.

5. It’s Great For Phone Conversations

Not only does it blast music, but you can also use the OM/ONE to conduct phone conversations since it includes a microphone, making it great for those who are lucky enough to have their own offices at work.

It’s currently a prototype, but OM Audio is looking for funds to launch it. The black or white ones runs for $179 while the cooler disco ball one goes for $299. For those that want stereo audio, get two black or white ones for $329 ($529 for two disco ones).

  1. The sound is horrible! I agree with Andrew. If I had heard this first I would have never bought one. I’m glad I didn’t opt for buying 2.

  2. “2. Quality Audio” Are you serious!! I’m really disappointed with the sound quality of the OM/ONE. It sounds cheap and tinny. It looks great though and I guess that’s the bit the sucked me in. But had I had the chance to listen to it before purchase then I would’ve walked away.

    1. Andrew, that’s too bad. We never got one, but maybe that’s why :). A second generation speaker might resolve this, but I suppose there are a varieety of challenges faced with this floating speaker design, one of them being audio quality.
