The OCLU Action Camera definitely stands out when compared to the other listings on our best action camera buyer’s guide. It shoots beautifully, 4K at 30 frames per second, and has image stabilization built-in so that bumps and shakes won’t affect your footage. There are lots of accessories that you can choose from to expand your experience. For the price, this is a great option for kayakers, motorcyclists, sports enthusiasts, and more.

Why We Like It – OCLU Action Camera

The OCLU Action Camera is a small, flexible action cam that can go wherever you go. Our favorite feature is the LiveCut editing mode, which allows the user to delete and edit clips at the moment. Bad take? Toss it! There’s no need to wait for computer access. It’s also sturdy, and water resistant for up to 50 meters with the right case. It also comes with Wi-Fi built-in, as well as motion-activated recording and wind-resistant audio.

  • Easy to change batteries while filming
  • Automatic wind noise control
  • Can edit and delete clips right away
  • Low battery life
  • Smartphone app sometimes has glitches

Many reviews note the OCLU Camera is a great alternative to the GoPro HERO 7 Black Action Camera and the GoPro Hero 7 Black Waterproof Streaming camera. It has a built-in GPS, and the two built-in microphones can easily cut down on wind noise. The video and image quality is beautiful. It even comes with customizable shooting modes so that you can switch back and forth between your favorite settings on-the-fly.

The OCLU Action Camera has 8 different settings to choose from, including burst, loop record, time lapse, and even a motion-activated control, which is a nice touch. The camera is water-resistant for up to 50 meters, but you will need to buy the OcShell separately.

With a small, sleek design, the OCLU Action Camera is unobtrusive. With the right accessories, it can mount pretty much anywhere, and it’s less likely to get knocked out of position. Unfortunately, many of the accessories need to be purchased separately, unlike the AKASO EK7000 Pro Action Camera, which comes with a bike mount. The OCLU Camera has a magnetic connection for charging and data transfer, and has interchangeable battery packs so that you can keep shooting all day. The motion-activated recording mode is excellent for hands-free filming, or for quietly filming wildlife. That said, if you don’t need an action cam, you might like our reviews on these two digital cameras: Fujifilm X-T200 and Olympus Digital Camera.

The OCLU Action Camera isn’t a basic budget cam like the Dragon Touch 4K Action Camera, but it’s still a great sports camera for the price. Its LiveCut tech is certainly unique and is worth the extra price. The biggest downside is that you have to buy most of the accessories separately, but it does come with a universal mounting clip. Plus, most of the OCLU accessories are compatible with GoPro and other action cameras on the market. And of course, you can’t beat the 4K video quality! OCLU Action Camera Wrap Up

The OCLU Action Camera is a great step up from your basic budget action cameras without breaking the budget. The LiveCut tech and the customizable shooting modes give the OCLU camera a big step up over the competition. With built-in wifi and wind noise reduction, and the option for a hydrophobic case, this camera is a great option for any outdoor enthusiast.
