Nvidia Tegra Note Tablet is the now the Most Powerful 7-inch Tablet, Too Bad You Can’t Have One

Brand names like Sony, Samsung, LG, and Apple have long been associated with smart devices.  Mention Nvidia to the average consumer and they’ll likely scratch their head in bewilderment.  And rightfully so, as Nvidia, who has long been building hardware, has largely stayed away from same products that have made the aforementioned companies so visible in the general public view.  However, that’s changed, sort of, when the company announced plans, and finally released, the Shield, a portable gaming rig that can access the Android Playstore and play games streamed from a compatible computer.

Now, Nvidia has announced a new tablet called the Tegra Note.  Though instead of targeting it directly at consumers, they’re pitching it as tablet platform that will allow HP and those alike to slap their brand on the outside and call it their own.  Customization options will be somewhat limited, but with that comes a starting (and suggested) retail price of $199.

The advantages, beyond the low cost, is the power, which comes by way of Nvidia’s Tegra 4 processor, the same processor found in the Shield.  Nividia is calling it the fastest processor in a 7-inch tablet all without the battery woes you’d normally experience thanks to its fifth core, which is said to be a battery saver.

Clearly the battery side of things remains to be seen, but that’s not all that Nvidia is pitching.  They also say they’ve got some stylus tech that is incredibly responsive, exceptional sound quality, a variety of camera apps that play complement to the 5MP shooter, a 10 hour battery life, and access to Tegra optimized games “that aren’t available on other tablets.”

  1. Good thing is Cortex A15 CPU. The good thing is Its nVidia! For all those gamers around, here’s the next thing you need for badass gaming. Looking for bad thing, It is just 7 Inch. In my opinion, They should have released a 10 Inch version instead of this.
