NOTA Coffee Mug Features Innovative Design

In countries that use condensed milk in their coffee, a slight problem is posed if no saucers are available. Designer Lee Hae Seung Scott contemplated this problem and came up with his own solution, creating the NOTA Coffee Mug. He observed that the coffee and tea drinkers at the hawker center in Singapore were served their ‘teh’ (tea) or ‘kopi’ (coffee) in local styled cups, sans saucers and the  condensed milk always settles at the bottom of the cup, always requiring a spoon to mix it in. But since there is no saucer, they also don’t have a sanitary place to put down their spoon, and have to place it inside their cup. His NOTA Coffee Mug allows the user to keep the spoon within their cup, tucked into a niche. This way the coffee drinker gets to enjoy their drink without the spoon annoying them.
