Riding a scooter, more often than not, can look pretty goofy. If you were hoping to break that image with a premium electric scooter, the best electric scooter for the job is the Ninebot Max Kick Scooter. It doesn’t hurt that the Segway Max also has a fast top speed, additional features, and superior battery life compared to other electric scooters.

Why We Like It – Ninebot Max

Segway designed the Ninebot Max with quality, innovation, and design—all of which are reflected by its powerful motor, sleek design, and on-board display.

  • Fast top speed of 18.6mph
  • Superb battery life
  • Easily stored with folding frame
  • Steep asking price

The Ninebot Max Scooter has some serious performance, outclassing many of the scooters on the best of the best list. For starters, its powerful motor pushes the Ninebot Kickscooter Max up to 18.6 miles per hour. That’s three miles faster than both GOTRAX GXL and Glion Dolly. It’s even got three riding modes for adjusting max speeds.

What has to be the best of what the Ninebot Max has to offer is its battery capacity. At full battery, the Ninebot Max can take you up to a max range of 40 miles. To put that in perspective, the Xiaomi M365—also known as Xiaomi Mi—only travels up to 18.6 miles before dying. Not bad, but the Ninebot Max doubles the max range, and then some.

There’s no doubt about it: the Ninebot Max looks good. A lot of time was spent adding additional features like an LED display to show your current speed, lets you activate cruise control, Bluetooth and more. The handlebars were given rubber padding to keep your grip from slipping. The front wheel and rear wheel are both 10 inch pneumatic tires, which is connected to its incredibly responsive braking system (thanks to its front drum brakes). There’s even brake lights.

Everything the Ninebot Max has to offer is high quality, which is easy enough to see. However, the pricing can really turn potential buyers away. It has all these really neat features: Bluetooth, firmware updates via app, cruise control, alternative speeds, and even charges pretty fast. So the question is—who needs that? As great as those features are, it only targets a small group of individuals. It won’t appeal to someone who just wants an electric scooter.

With that said, you’re still getting an amazing scooter, if you want those features. If not, consider the Razor EcoSmart Metro Electric Scooter. It isn’t as feature full, but is great for traveling short distances.

Ninebot Max Wrap Up

To enjoy the Ninebot Max, you need to invest quite the sum of money. Because of that, it’s better suited for a scooter enthusiast. When you look past the price, you find a powerful scooter with an excellent battery capable of pushing you to 18.6 miles per hour for 40 miles on a single charge. And when you’re done, its foldable frame makes it easy to store.
