The above video from Motorola is a tad convoluted, but in short, Motorola has built a touchscreen device that is designed to appear as an LCD photo frame, but is in fact ‘oh so much more’. Not only does it include a built-in video camera, Bluetooth, and VoIP access (we’ve seen something similar from AT&T and OpenPeak) but it sports a femtocell that boosts users’ cell phone receptions when in proximity. The device can also stream content from one mobile device to the other (e.g. movies, music, etc). The device’s power and user access can be managed from the proprietary UI.
It still looks to be early stages, although the Indian dude talking says it’s in today’s market place. He left me wondering, too.[Wired]
