The Maxtra E Scooter features polyurethane tires and an impressive 6-8 hour charge time which rivals other best electric scooters with seat contenders. The removable and height adjustable seat is a welcome addition too, especially for a growing child, and puts the Maxtra Electric Scooter in the running for the best electric moped as well! You’ll want to see how it compares to the best-selling electric scooters too.

Why We Like It – Maxtra Electric Scooter

The Maxtra Electric Scooter features a 10-12 miles per hour top speed, which is fantastic both because it’s fast enough to provide exhilaration and just slow enough to make it safe for kids. The fact that it meets EU safety regulations is also a bonus, and the UL2272 safety certification is very welcome as well. However, if you don’t want your child to have an electric scooter, you can check out our Razor A5 Lux kick scooter review for a motorless scooter. And if you like the Razor brand, you can read our Razor electric street bike review for another option.

Performance

Maxtra Electric Scooters contain a top speed of about 10-12 MPH, which is pretty much average, if not a little bit less, than other scooters in its class, like the SKRT Electric Scooter. It’s similar to the Maxtra Electric Scooter/Moped in terms of its top speed. Unfortunately, we couldn’t find any information on its ability to go up hills or through rugged terrain, but we did find some reviews that advised against it. With that said, if you’re interested in the top offroad e-scooters, we have a list for you.

Considering this is a scooter designed for kids, that’s understandable. For a more adult-oriented scooter, check out the NanRobot D5+ with its 40 mph top speed.

Alternatively, we have a couple of three-wheeled scooters you can check out as well, the Doohan iTank is an electric-powered option, while the Automoto 3-wheeled scooter is a gas-powered option.

Safety

The Maxtra E120 Electric Scooter features CE certification and RoHS, meaning it has met EU consumer safety regulations, the first certification we’ve seen for a scooter like this. And if it’s good for the EU, you know it’s safe for American use as well. The scooter also sports 6” polyurethane tires that give it great maneuverability and road-gripping capabilities. It’s not superb on grass or dirt, so we suggest you stick to sidewalks and roads in the neighborhood. If you’d prefer chunkier tires, consider the Hill Topper Sprinter electric bike review.

Battery Life

The Maxtra Motorized Electric Scooter can’t go as far as other scooters, having a continuous use range of only about 6 miles after a full charge. But if you’re a parent, I suppose this is a gift rather than a detriment. However, the charge time on the scooter is quite impressive, coming in at 6-8 hours which is, believe us, very good and perfect for overnight charging and is about the same as the Hiboy S2. The scooter should last on a single full charge for 60 minutes. If weight is your main focus, check out our guide to the lightest electric scooter models.

In that case, if you want a bike that will go 65 miles per charge, read our Schwinn Voyageur review instead.

Durability

The max weight capacity on the Maxtra electric scooter is listed at 155 pounds, though this can be pushed to 160 if necessary. But make 160 the absolute maximum. The scooter that weighs 26 pounds is also made of durable, high-quality alloy steel, so it should be able to support any child within the weight range. We just wish the handlebars were also made of steel too! But I guess it’s easier to control when it’s aluminum. On the other hand, if you’re seeking a durable adult bike, check out our RadWagon review.

Value

The scooter sports an impressive two-year parts warranty, which is more than any other scooter we’ve encountered thus far. The scooter itself is also height-adjustable, so as your child grows, their scooter can grow with them. Unfortunately, it also comes in one color, and that color is a bright pink, which may deter some kids from wanting to get it.

Maxtra Electric Scooter Wrap Up

The biggest downfalls of the Maxtra Electric Scooter aren’t really downfalls if you’re buying this for your kid. It can only travel 6 miles. Where does a kid have to go that’s more than 6 miles away from their home? The Gymax electric scooter gets around 9.5 miles per charge. The only downfall would be that it comes in only a bright pink, which may deter certain kids from wanting to ride it.

On the other hand, if you’re after an adult model, you’ll want to get a speedy electric scooter.
