Overview

First released back in late 2022, the Logitech MX Master 3S is a high-end wireless mouse that boasts an ergonomic design with a grippy underside for comfort during long hours of usage. Similar to many of the highly-ranked computer mouse options available in its range, this model has both Bluetooth low energy technology along with a BOLT USB receiver for wireless connectivity (no built-in storage compartment). However, unlike many of the top-rated gaming mouse models out on the market today, it has a fairly high input latency of 12.9 ms.

If you need a lower latency for gaming, but want to get a wireless mouse from the same brand, make sure to take a look at our Logitech G903 LIGHTSPEED review. The Logitech MX Master 3S, unfortunately, doesn’t have customizable RGB lighting or wired connectivity. However, it has eight customizable buttons adjustable using the Logitech Options Plus customization software.

our Verdict

The Logitech MX Master 3S is a premium wireless mouse that is excellent for office use. Its ergonomic design caters to right-handed users, although its larger size makes it best suited for those with larger hands. Notable features include its ultra-quiet click and the ability to connect to three devices simultaneously, enhancing productivity. The impressive battery life of up to 70 days ensures reliable performance on the go.
Its tested click latencies of 12.9ms (USB receiver) and 13.4ms (Bluetooth) offer good enough responsiveness without any lag, and its adjustable 8000 DPI resolution allows users to fine-tune sensitivity. The mouse also boasts two scroll wheels for added convenience. However, its weight of 141.2g may hinder maneuverability, and it may not be ideal for users with smaller hands.

While the Logitech MX Master 3S wireless mouse comes with a Bolt USB dongle, the Logitech MX Master comes with a unifying USB dongle. The Logitech MX Master 3S also comes with an included USB-C cable (3.4 feet long rubberized) that is much more prevalent for charging, whereas the Logitech MX Master wireless mouse features a micro USB cable. And the Logitech MX Master 3S mouse boasts a 70-day battery life. In contrast, the Logitech MX Master only offers around 8 hours of usage on a full charge.

Unlike the Razer Pro Click mouse, the Logitech MX Master 3S features a horizontal scroll wheel. And the Logitech Options Plus companion software is fully compatible with macOS devices, which isn’t the case with the Razer Synapse 3 customization software. However, the Razer Pro Click wireless mouse does have a whopping 18 different programmable buttons, whereas the Logitech MX Master 3S mouse only comes with eight programmable buttons. And the Razer has a significantly higher-resolution sensor.

At just 98.8 grams, the Apple Magic Mouse 2 is a significantly lighter model when put against the 142.3-gram Logitech MX Master 3S wireless mouse. And it also has a smaller footprint, which makes the Apple Magic Mouse 2 easier to carry as a portable mouse while traveling than the Logitech MX Master 3S. However, the 3S is fully compatible with both Windows and macOS devices, while the Magic Mouse 2 only has partial compatibility with Windows. The 3S also has Bluetooth low energy technology.

The Logitech MX Master 3 is the direct predecessor to the newer Logitech MX Master 3S mouse, and they are both similar-looking right-handed mice with identical ergonomic shapes. As a result, they both perform extremely similarly in most aspects. But the newer MX Master 3S does have a much more improved sensor (8000 DPI optical sensor) compared to the Logitech MX Master 3’s 4000 DPI Darkfield sensor. The newer Logitech MX Master 3S also has a higher polling rate of 125 Hz than Master 3’s 90 Hz.
