The Logitech MX Anywhere 2S offers a small-sized lightweight body, an ambidextrous design, and a good-quality optical sensor, making it a fantastic choice for those in need of a portable office mouse. However, palm gripped users should steer clear of it.
First released back in early 2018, the Logitech MX Anywhere 2S is a high-end wireless mouse that is a great ambidextrous option for office use and productivity.
Similar to some of the best-rated computer mouse models available out there on the market today, this mouse supports both Bluetooth connection and 2.4 GHz RF connectivity through a Pico unifying receiver.
And it has a sealed rechargeable lithium-ion battery that lasts around three to four weeks, depending on the usage. However, it doesn’t have storage space for the USB adapter.
If you want a wireless mouse from the same manufacturer that does provide a storage space for its USB dongle, make sure to take a look at our Logitech M187 Mini Wireless Mouse review.
The Logitech 2S has a total of eight buttons (five programmable buttons using the Logitech Options app). And it features rubber finger rests for grip and ergonomics.

our Verdict
The Logitech MX Anywhere 2S is a great option for those looking for a small-sized portable wireless office mouse for productivity workloads.
It features an extremely durable overall build quality, and it boasts a fantastic ambidextrous design that is comfortable for all small-handed claw/fingertip-gripped users but isn’t very ergonomic for palm-gripped users.
And it boasts a 4000 DPI laser Darkfield optical sensor which is adjustable in 50 increments for fine-tuning. But if you want to go for a newer version of this mouse, check our Logitech MX Anywhere 3 review.
The Logitech MX Anywhere is tested to last up to three to four weeks on a single charge, which is on par with most other office mice. And it has a body weight of just 104.5 grams.

The Logitech MX Anywhere 2S mouse is significantly smaller than the Logitech MX Master 2S, which makes it more travel friendly. On the other hand, the Logitech MX Master 2S features a thumb scroll wheel for side scrolling, whereas the Logitech MX Anywhere 2S’ main scroll wheel has a tilt feature for horizontal scroll. And the Logitech MX Master 2S’ larger size allows it to be more ergonomic than the Logitech MX Anywhere 2S. But the Logitech MX Anywhere 2S does have an ambidextrous shape.

While the Mad Catz R.A.T. DWS is a fully wireless gaming mouse, the Logitech MX Anywhere 2S is more geared toward productivity inside an office environment. And the Logitech MX Anywhere 2S has an internal rechargeable battery with a battery life of around three to four weeks on a single charge. In contrast, Mad Catz uses a single AA battery that runs for about 200 hours using the wireless USB receiver and 300 hours using Bluetooth. Additionally, the 2S unit has an infinity scroll wheel for smooth scrolling.

Unfortunately, unlike the Logitech MX Anywhere 2S, the Razer Atheris mouse uses two AA batteries that provide around 350 hours of battery life. However, the Razer Atheris does have a 1000 Hz polling rate that is adjustable for gaming, whereas the Logitech MX Anywhere 2S only has a polling rate of 125 Hz. And the Razer Atheris mouse features a significantly better 7200 DPI sensor compared to the MX 2S’ 4000-DPI laser sensor. On the contrary, the Logitech MX 2S mouse sports a 4D scroll wheel for horizontal scroll.

The older Logitech MX Master Wireless Mouse is the direct predecessor to the newer Logitech MX Anywhere 2S model, and the 2S is essentially a smaller and more portable version of the Logitech MX Master. The Logitech MX Anywhere 2S uses rubber finger rests on both sides for grip, whereas the older Logitech MX Master mouse comes with silicone side grips with an ergonomic design for comfort. However, the newer MX 2S does have a significantly better 4000 DPI sensor than the MX Master’s 1600 DPI unit.
