If you want the best 4K TV for the sake of having 4K resolution, a decent budget option is the LG – 70” Class – UN7370 Series. It does an excellent job fitting into most homes with its ability to handle reflections from oncoming light sources. This is in addition to its low input lag and HDR, which come in handy when gaming or watching movies.
The LG – 70” Class – UN7370 Series excels at being an average budget 4K TV but incorporates features like low input lag and exceptional reflection handling for comfortable viewing in most situations. The LG UP8000 series looks very similar to this model while offering sizes ranging from 43″ to 86″. The LG UN7370 UHD Smart Home Smart TV does okay in its quest for good picture quality. Paired with its 60Hz refresh rate, its 9.7 ms input lag is a solid setup for gaming. What falters a bit, however, is HDR and its color gamut. For DCI P3, it sits between 80-85%, while Rec 2020 sits between 58-65%. It doesn’t have a wide color gamut, though colors are noticeably better than your run-of-the-mill HDTV. And HDR suffers from low peak brightness. It doesn’t even have local dimming. Since the LG – 70” Class – UN7370 Series LG UHD TV is a smart LED TV, it’s built for tonnes of smart functions and voice assistant support, along with three HDMI ports. LG ThinQ AI, for example, is AI technology that can provide valuable information to its users based on habits, like a recipe you might enjoy, which can be controlled by your voice and the remote control. This is in addition to Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa built-in. As for aesthetics, the Samsung Q7F looks stunning next to the UN7370.
Given how little “wow factor” the LG – 70” Class – UN7370 Series provides, it’s tough to categorize where this LG TV falls. Its biggest accomplishment is being 4K with good input lag, which is a good environment for gaming. Its HDR, on the other hand, isn’t great, which is a real bummer when you want the most out of your movies. With that said, it is cheap. It’s one of the most affordable 4K TVs you can pick up—and with a 70-inch screen? It’s worth picking up if you want better colors, a bigger screen, and 4K resolution over an HDTV. The LG – 70” Class – UN7370 Series doesn’t impress us all that much. It certainly handles reflections well, and input lag is low enough to be a help in gaming, and its ThinQ AI technology can provide some helpful information. Just know that going in HDR is average, and local dimming is missing entirely; otherwise, it’s nothing more than a decent budget 4K TV, albeit large. However, if you need a small TV for your kitchen, the LG 22LJ4540 TV should be able to fill that role but note it is not a smart TV.
