The Lenovo FC900R delighted reviewers with its build quality and the typing experience that it offered. During their tests, they found it pretty quiet when typing and appreciated that it had standard spacing. Still, its lack of backlighting, limited programmability, and incompatibility with iOS and iPadOS proved disappointing.

Product testers have hailed the Lenovo FC900R as an excellent pick for anyone who prioritizes top-tier build quality. Even though it is wired and has no wireless connectivity, testers from Tech Critter liked that it had rubber pads on each corner and on the kickstands to provide grip and that it also had DIP switches that could alternate the function of specific keys such as its Left Control and Caps Lock button.

Being a full-size QWERTY keyboard (wondering what is a Qwerty Keyboard?), reviewers from Rtings were satisfied with its typing quality during their tests, as they observed that its keys had standard spacing. They also liked that it was pretty quiet during typing and attributed this to a padded layer built inside.

However, reviewers were not as delighted with its lack of backlighting, which, as you’ll see in our Logitech G413 SE review, is present in the G413. They also lamented its lack of support for key programming and its incompatibility with iOS and iPads.

Overview

The Leopold FC900R is a high-end mechanical keyboard that was first available in 2020. Like most highly rated keyboards on the market, it has excellent build quality, and this is courtesy of its stable double-shot PBT keycaps. It will also take up a fair amount of space since it is 17.3 inches wide, and as you’ll see in our Keychron Q6 review, this is one of many things that the FC900R and the Q6 have in common.

The FC900R has an impressive latency of 7.6ms and comes with a detachable mini USB connector that can be replaced. In terms of ergonomics, it has a medium and maximum incline of 3° and 6° respectively, and even though it might not be one of the best ergonomic keyboards available, it is quite suitable for typing and is available in different color trims.
