If you’re sick of playing on low framerates, or negative frames during team fights, the best laptop for League of Legends is the Lenovo Legion Y7000. Not only does it have the graphical and processing power to run League of Legends on ultra-high, it does so at 144Hz. And as a bonus: you get faster load times using an SSD. If you like faster load times, you can get this and more from the best gaming laptops. Check them out!

Why We Like It – Lenovo Legion Y7000

With the Lenovo Legion Y7000, you’ll experience every detail of League of Legends’ Summoner’s Rift on ultra-high, topped with a 144Hz refresh rate.

  • Plays League of Legends on ultra-high settings
  • Faster load times with SSD
  • 144Hz refresh rate
  • Storage is small
  • GPU/CPU combo are starting to age

Performance & Battery

When you combine a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050Ti and an 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8300H, you get in return a PC rig that can handle ultra-high settings. Framerate can soar past 100+, which provides a phenomenal gaming experience—especially together with its 144Hz refresh rate. Though the CPU does just fine running League of Legends, the Lenovo Legion Y540 has a faster 9th Gen Intel Core i7; it’ll have an easier time handling processes. As for battery life, you can expect up to 5 hours. That’s plenty for a single gaming session.

Ports, Expandability & Build Quality

The Lenovo Legion Y7000 dropped a hard disk for a solid state hard drive. You’ll get much faster load times, but the 256GB of storage is rather small. Protecting the hardware is ABS plastic and an aluminum hood—sturdy enough, albeit cheap. Along the sides and back is USB Type C, miniDP 1.4, HDMI 2.0, Ethernet, audio jack, and three USB 3.1.

It isn’t hard to see why the Lenovo Legion Y7000 is worth picking up, more importantly: its performance matches its price. However, both its GPU and CPU are starting to show their age, though still great for League of Legends. You may want to consider future proofing by picking up either an Asus ROG Strix Scar III or MSI GE75 RTX 2070. Both are packing high-end hardware that will last several years down the road.

Lenovo Legion Y7000 Wrap Up

Despite having an aging GPU, the Lenovo Legion Y7000 is still a powerhouse for running League of Legends on ultra-high, with frames that surpass 60. And that’s a testament to how easily accessible LoL is. With a 144Hz refresh rate and SSD for load times, you’ll always have a smooth experience.
