Leatherman undeniably makes great tools. But sometimes, you don’t really need a set of pliers or a pair of scissors, but rather a place to store your earbuds and a way to get your bottles open. So, for snowboarders, skiiers, multitool enthusiasts, and others, Leatherman has a new tool, the Leatherman Hail, a carabiner with some interesting additions.
Tools In Your Tools
The first is that the hail and Leatherman’s TSA-compliant keychain tool the Style PS click together in a comfy little package that make them easy to carry. The Style PS is an intensely useful tool to have in your pocket, and nestling inside a carabiner just makes it more useful. If, perhaps, creating a few tool redundancies.
The Carabiner Itself
The Hail itself is a “one-piece” multitool, where the design starts with a sheet of metal and punches holes in it to create the various aspects of the tools. And it’s got some pretty useful functions, designed as it is for the slopes; there’s a 10mm wrench for tightening bindings, a flathead screwdriver, a place for your earbuds, a bottle opener (which is a bit redundant since the Style PS also has a bottle opener), a lace assist, and a scraper. And that’s just the Hail itself; the Style PS adds a file, pliers, wire cutters, scissors, and… well, another bottle opener. Multitools are required by law to open bottles.
Hail To The King
Joking about redundancies aside, the Hail looks to be a highly effective and smartly designed sports multitool that does what a good multitool should do; disappear into the background until you actually need it, and then go back to being an unassuming part of your gear once it’s done. Plus, it comes with the Style PS. If that sounds appealing, you can get it now for $47.
