Considering the affordable price and decent performance, the KZ ZSN is a reasonable choice for those seeking an upgrade from their old earbuds, especially if they prefer a bass-heavy sound signature. But be aware of the control and treble limitations.

What Is Not on the Box
What the brand doesn’t always tell you…
our Verdict

The KZ ZSN has a sound quality that leans towards bass-heavy genres, with a powerful and consistent bass and clear mid-range. However, the uneven treble performance and limited soundstage may disappoint audiophiles seeking a more balanced sound.
The earbuds are comfortable for sports, breathable, and well-built, but the non-customizable ear hooks may not suit everyone’s ears perfectly. Overall, the earbuds are durable and well-built, with a quality braided cable that lasts a long time.
While the detachable cable adds durability, the lack of an in-line remote on certain variants limits user control options. The earbuds also lack any noise cancellation feature, which makes them unideal for commuting and airplane travel. And lastly, there’s no microphone, which can make them a poor choice for office work.

Overview
The KZ ZSN in-ear headphones were launched in late 2018 as a wired, entry-level option designed with a metal-finish backplate and a braided, removable cable that most highly-rated headphones do not have.
The wired headphones don’t offer any integrated microphone or in-line controls, but they have a bass-filled sound profile courtesy of the 10mm dynamic driver in each bud and they weigh only 0.06 pounds.
Their braided cable is 3.9 ft long, and because of its ⅛’’ TRS connector, the in-ear headphones can be connected to both PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
Unfortunately, the ZSN in-ear headphones don’t have a companion app for sound customization, and there’s also no support for NFC or multi-device pairing since they are wired. However, these features are easy to spot among the best wireless earbuds.

Market Context | – | The KZ ZSN in-ear headphones have a similar design to the KZ ZST in-ear headphones, but their sound leakage performance is not as good as that of the ZST earbuds. Another slight difference between the two is that the KZ ZSN earbuds ship with four different pairs of silicone ear tips, while the ZST earbuds include three pairs. | Unfortunately, the KZ ZSN in-ear headphones have a poor sound leakage performance compared to the KZ AS10 in-ear headphones, but they are a slightly more compact option than the former. Also worth noting is that the AS10 earbuds have a longer 5 ft detachable cable compared to the ZSN earbuds, which have a cable that only extends to 3.9 ft. If they sound interesting, you can take a look at what else the AS10 earbuds have to offer by going through our KZ AS10 review. | The analog cable on the KZ ZSN in-ear headphones is detachable but the one on the Apple EarPods is not, and while the ZSN in-ear headphones exist in six different colors, the Apple EarPods are only available in white. Another difference between the two is that the ZSN in-ear headphones ship with four pairs of silicone earbuds for different ear sizes, while the Apple EarPods do not have any foam tips. Feel free to learn more about the EarPods in our Apple EarPods review. |
