Expert testers hailed the Keycron Q6 for its impressive build quality and quiet typing noise. Product reviewers liked that its rubber feet kept it stable and that its RGB backlit lighting was programmable. However, they were not impressed with its ergonomics and lamented that its latency wasn’t low enough for competitive gaming.
The Keychron Q6 is one of the best keyboards that have been launched in 2022. It is a premium pick that is wired and available in three colorways. It can also be shipped either as a fully assembled version or a barebones version that does not include the keycaps and switches.
The Q6 is also backlit, and like many of the best gaming keyboards on the market, its RGB lighting pattern can be programmed and customized according to the user’s preferences. The keyboard has a USB type-C connector, is compatible with both Windows and Mac computers, and also features a toggle to switch between the two.
It can also be personalized through its VIA software, where owners will be able to remap keys and set up more than six user profiles. As you might see in our Leopold FC900R review, this is not a very common feature with most keyboards.

our Verdict
The Keychron Q6 received much praise from testers for its high build quality and suitability for casual gaming and programming. Product reviewers from Rtings liked how sturdy it felt and appreciated the grippy rubber feet on its underside that ensured the keyboard wasn’t sliding around on the desk during their tests.
They also liked that it was quiet during typing and measured its latency to 11.6ms. If this is not low enough, then the Mountain Everest Max might be worth considering – check out our Mountain Everest Max review. Experts from Adored TV liked that it used a double casket design and silicone pads, which helped reduce the keyboard’s sound profile.
Unfortunately, the Keychron Q6 is not as ergonomic as other keyboards, as it lacks a wrist rest. (If you’re big on ergonomics, have a look at our Kinesis Freestyle Edge RGB review). Testers also felt that its latency was too low for competitive gaming and were disappointed that it did not allow for incline adjustments.
