Experts lauded the Keychron K8 and endorsed it for office and mobile use. Reviewers at ZDNet loved its Bluetooth connectivity. Analysts at Tom’s Hardware hailed its TenKeyLess (80% size) design. However, if you need a similar full-size model, see our Keychron K10 review. This unit boasts an aluminum frame that doesn’t flex, but it has normal ABS keycaps.
Users who require OSA-profile PBT keycaps should check out the Keychron K8 Pro review. It has adjustable feet, inclining at 4°, 8°, and 12°. However, it doesn’t have a wrist rest. Testers were impressed by its customizable RGB backlighting with individually lit keys. They confirmed that it pairs with up to three devices via Bluetooth, and it also supports wired USB-C connections.
A model with Gateron Brown switches needed a 45 gf operating force and 2.2 mm pre-travel distance during testing. Editors say that it provides a good typing experience and performs quietly. However, its 11.0 ms wired latency, and 22.9 ms Bluetooth latency proved to be a bit high for enthusiast gaming.
