Just Announced: G-Form Extreme Portfolio (video)

My Inbox went off just a little while ago with new announcement from the folks at G-Form.  They’ve not only announced their new Extreme Portfolio, but they’ve come out with a wicked crazy 60 foot drop test video to run alongside it.  I’ve watched this video a few times before posting, and I have to say WOW!  The Extreme Portfolio is supposed to be for the iPad or iPad 2, but I would assume you could use it for other tablets the same size.  Check after the jump for the full press release, and 60 foot drop text video!

G-Form Introduces the Extreme Portfolio™– the first in-use
portfolio case incorporating RPTTM impact protection

PROVIDENCE, RI (July 13, 2011) – G-Form, makers of the Extreme Sleeve™ for iPad
– known widely as the world’s most rugged iPad Sleeve, today introduces the Extreme
PortfolioTM for iPad, the world’s first portfolio-style case for tablets incorporating their
remarkable RPT™ (Reactive Protection Technology). Fully designed and manufactured
in the United States of America, this lightweight and water-resistant portfolio case using
G-Forms flexible RPTTM technology can actually accommodate a variety of different
tablet sizes including both iPad 1 and iPad 2 and others. The case is selectively
reinforced with polycarbonate and added RPTTM corners offering front and corner
protection for the iPad while in-use. It has an adjustable easel stand, an inside pocket
for documents and a reversible zipper that zips to convert the case to a doubly
protective tablet format.

“Our customers love the peace of mind that the Extreme Sleeve gives them in
protecting their electronics” said Thom Cafaro VP Innovations for G-Form, “Now with
the Extreme Portfolio™ Case they can have that same level of protection for their iPad
while using it.”

Unlike other portfolio cases that must be sized for a specific device, G-Form indicates
that the Extreme PortfolioTM for iPad will fit a wide variety of tablets including iPad1,
iPad 2, Xoom and others. “Because our protection technology is flexible”, said Cafaro,

“we can provide a portfolio case that can continue to fit your needs as you change or
upgrade your tablet devices”.

Just like the Extreme Sleeve™ 1 and 2 models, the exterior of the G-Form Extreme
PortfolioTM for iPad is composed of RPT™ – a combination of PORON®XRD™ material
and proprietary G-Form technology and design. The RPT™ absorbs over 90% of the
energy of an impact and stiffens to act like armor in order to offer a high level of
protection for your iPad or other tablet.

According to G-Form, the Extreme PortfolioTM for iPad not only equals the unparalleled
protection of the Extreme Sleeve but actually surpasses it due to proprietary
improvements to the technology. To demonstrate, the company does a side by side 60-
foot drop onto concrete comparing the RPT™ powered Extreme PortfolioTM for iPad
against a well known rigid case (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XeI6_gNVPLs). A
longer version of the video with no cuts in the video drop test is also available

The G-Form Extreme PortfolioTM for iPad can be opened and used in several
configurations. The front cover can be reverse-zipped behind the iPad, which will offer
two levels of RPT™ protection beneath the iPad. In this position the front screen is still
protected by beefy RPT™ corners that also serve to hold it securely in place. The
Extreme PortfolioTM for iPad can also be used in an easel or A-frame configuration in
either landscape and portrait mode.

The Extreme PortfolioTM for iPad is available for pre-order now at www.g-form.com and
the first pre-orders orders will begin shipping on August 11th. Pre-orders will initially be
limited to 2 per customer.
