You want the best pet vacuum, but you really don’t want to clean pet hair yourself. Naturally, your mind should focus on the best robot vacuum, such as the iRobot Roomba E5. It may not have as much suction power as traditional vacuums, but its design makes it just as capable to be the best vacuum for pet hair. Find more powerful vacuums by reading our best vacuum cleaner reviews.

Why We Like It – iRobot Roomba E5

Gain back some of your time by relieving the duty of sweeping and vacuuming, and it’s all thanks to the iRobot Roomba E5’s ability to run for 90 minutes straight, with a 3-stage cleaning system.

  • Run time of up to 90 minutes
  • Great suction + 3-stage multi-surface cleaning
  • Excellent pricing
  • No automatic dirt removal

Compared to traditional vacuums, 1700Pa doesn’t sound like much, but in the context of the best robot vacuums, that kind of suction lefts pet hair right off the floor and out of your carpets. For comparison, the iRobot Roomba 675 only has 600PA. Combined with its rubber brushes that never tangle from pet hair and height adjustment, you never have to worry about a lack of suction power.

Although, if power is a concern for cleaning your floors clean, you’ll want to ask yourself if a robot vacuum is worth it? And, if you still want a robotic vacuum, then compare the Neato vs Roomba, to see which one is the best.

Speed & Efficiency

Typical of robot vacuums, the iRobot Roomba E5 isn’t fast, but it doesn’t need to be when you’re not doing the work. On a single 90-minute charge, iRobot E5 Roomba Robot Vacuums can cover 1615 ft. To keep it on track, you’ll want to consider bumping up to the model with a dual-mode virtual wall barrier.

Bin Capacity & Maintenance

Another expected downside is a small dustbin of only 500ML. It doesn’t matter what model it is—iRobot Roomba i7, Roomba S9, Neato Botvac, Ecovacs Deebot, or a Eufy Robovac—they all have small bins. But on the bright side, the iRobot app has scheduling, which means it’s in constant motion. All you have to do is clean out the dustbin after it returns to the home base. If it has automatic dirt removal, maintenance would drop even further.

Mostly constructed from hard plastic, the iRobot Roomba E5 isn’t winning points in durability. As long as you’re not hopping on it for a ride, it’ll last several years.

There’s something magical about walking over to your iRobot Roomba E5, pressing the clean button and you going about your day. Spending $250 on it may sound like a lot, but it’s a bargain compared to others of similar design. Its performance warrants the cost. And really, the biggest value you get from it is time.

iRobot Roomba E5 Wrap Up

It doesn’t take long to empty the iRobot Roomba E5’s dustbin, so lacking automatic dirt removal can largely be ignored. It offers too much to let a few moments of your day ruin the prospect of never having to sweep or vacuum again. Running for 90 minutes is awesome on its own, then tosses in a 3-stage cleaning system? Great performance and great pricing!
