It’s that time of year again when allergies make your eyes itchy and your throat scratchy. What does it take to get all of those irritants out of the air? It takes a decent air purifier. One like the Honeywell True Allergen Remover HPA300. Many consider it to be among the best air purifiers you can get. Honeywell is a trusted air purifier brand, so I have high hopes for this one.
Before we dive in, you’ll want to check out some other recommendations including the Honeywell HPA250B, the Clarifion, and Levoit LV-H132.
This popular air purifier has some impressive features like a mechanical filter system, and a CADR rating of 300, and it can filter a space of up to 465 square feet. Compare these specs with the air purifier in our Blueair Sense Air Purifier review before you make your choice. The Honeywell True Allergen Remover HPA300 has all of the right features. It even self-monitors filter performance, is lightweight at less than 25 lbs, and even comes with a 5-year limited warranty. Add that to the fact that it costs less than $200 and you have a winning formula for cleaning the air in your home. Get rid of that bad smell and nasty pollutants like mold spores and cigarette smoke as it purifies the air. Compare this with another purifier by reading our review titled are HEPA purifiers enough for allergies – as we debunk some HEPA myths.
This air purifier for allergies is lightweight but has a build quality solid enough that it should last a long time. As for design, it does stand out. I’ve seen enough ugly air purifiers to appreciate the rounded edges. The streamlined shape and look of it can actually blend in with your surroundings. Or at least not look too out of place. It is also not overly bulky. This machine is easy to pick up and move.
This Honeywell appliance can move about 280 cubic feet of air per minute in a 465-square-foot room. That is a lot of sq ft. This translates to circulating the air up to five times an hour with a Clean Air Delivery Rate of 300. With specs like this, your air is indeed getting cleaned thoroughly. If you are an allergy sufferer, you will surely get relief. Pet owners are going to love it, too, since it is a powerful pet dander remover. Those airborne allergens from pet hair can really irritate you. For those with smaller rooms then our Honeywell True HEPA Air Filter review should spike your interest as it does a great job for rooms of up to 300 square feet.
You get 4 fan speeds, which I really liked and the self-monitoring function alerts you when it is time to change filters, taking the guesswork out of it. Replacing these true HEPA allergen remover filters is very simple as well.
The auto-off setting is nice for when you want to shut the air cleaner off at certain times. While I found that it gave me all of the features I needed, I do wish it had more options and settings. However, I can live with this since it performs like a champ. Rest assured, you are getting top-notch HEPA filtering. After running this Honeywell True HEPA machine for the first time for 2 hours there was a noticeable difference in the air quality. The dust wasn’t bothering me nearly as much as before. That is one thing this model excels at. It wasn’t terribly noisy. It didn’t interfere with my TV watching or anything, but I would have preferred it to be a bit quieter. It is more like white noise. Despite the fact that it is lacking in certain areas, this is a great air purifier for a really great price. After air purification, my air is cleaner and I can breathe easier.
The final verdict is that you get a real workhorse for a bargain. The Honeywell True HEPA allergen remover cleans air fast and does a fantastic job. While not feature-heavy, which is why it lacks a remote control, it is one of the best air purifier experiences I have had. This would be largely thanks to the true HEPA filter. It is easy to use, and well designed and the HEPA replacement filters are easy to replace. The replacement reminder lets you know when it’s time. I highly recommend this one to anyone who has allergies or just wants cleaner air. Buy the Honeywell HPA300 and you will be walking on air. Cleaner air.
The Honeywell brand does it again! There is a reason that Honeywell air purifiers are big sellers.
