Garmin’s Approach S3 Touchscreen GPS Golf Watch (video)

Garmin announced its new Approach S3 touchscreen GPS golf watch that’s sleek enough to wear everyday, while coming in very handy on your next golf trip. The stylish, rugged and waterproof, high-resolution glove-friendly touchscreen watch from Garmin comes preloaded with 27,000 worldwide golf courses, with more being added, all without having to pay subscriptions or any fees. There is also free updates throughout the year that add new courses and make enhancements to the current lineup. The GPS watch also comes with cool programs like Green View with manual pin positioning, distances to doglegs and layup points, customizable yardage points and digital scorecards so that golfers will have a “virtual” caddie with them no matter where they go.

The lightweight watch also includes a round timer to keep track of your time on the course, as well as comes in different color options so you can easily match it to your golf shirt. With eight hours of playing time on one charge, the new Approach S3 watch can last up to four weeks as a day-to-day timepiece. Changing the internal batter is easy, too. Its custom charging cradle is a small magnetic clip that fastens to the S3 with ease and can be set down with the peace of mind that it will be ready, with a full charge, to take to the course the following morning.  The Approach S3’s high-resolution sunlight readable touchscreen display provides large, bright numbering so that it does not slow down the game.

  1. I have just bought the S3 really looked forward to using it, then I find out none of my local golf courses (1 of which is a Championship course) are loaded on the device, I about to play in Spain also that course (Fairplay) is not on the S3 either and also there are no Turkish courses at Belek loaded as well, To make matters worse you cannot download the courses you must wait for a quarterly update and even then there is no guarantee that my preferred course will be updated, I feel I have bought a GPS device that is no use to me, dont buy until you check out your local course is loaded, PS Anybody want to buy an S3
