Picking up the best folding electric bike on a budget is made easy with the FIIDO D1 Folding Electric Bike riding around. It can blow wind through your hair going 15.5mph for a stretch as long as 25 miles, and isn’t too bad on inclines either. And one can take it as the best electric bike for kids.
Packing good speed, but a great battery, the FIIDO D1 Folding Electric Bike can be a comfortable riding experience for adults and kids alike and a shoo-in as a budget option.
The FIIDO D1 Folding Electric Bike isn’t anything special when it comes to build quality and durability. To put it simply: it’s fine. The frame is made of lightweight aluminum alloy, making it weigh just under 39 lbs. Despite its low weight, its weight limit is 265 pounds. It has two finishes: the color black and white. For a different type of bike, the Fat tire recumbent trike review details an e-bike with low-pressure tires that provide float and traction on bumpy trails.
Clocking in at 15.5mph, the FIIDO D1 Folding Electric Bike is going fast enough for adults to enjoy, but slow enough that kids aren’t hurting themselves when taking it for a spin. It also has three riding modes, from least assistance to most: pedal, moped, and pure electric. But if that’s not enough, the Speedrid Folding Ebike can go 22mph. Alternatively, you might be looking for a lightweight road bike that can fly up climbs. For such an option, read the Focus Paralane2 review.
If there’s anything the FIIDO Electric Bikes do best, is battery and safety features. Its li-ion battery can push it, as a pure electric bicycle, for 25 miles more consistently than the Nakto Folding Electric Bike. This means, when driving at top speed, you’ll get almost 2 hours of battery life. But that comes at the cost of a 5-hour charging time (uses an EU plug).
The lithium battery is packed full of safety features. It gets over current protection, overcharge protection, over-discharge protection, temp protection, predischarge, and short-circuit protection. In other words: it’s a high-quality battery that doesn’t overcharge nor discharge when not in use.
The FIIDO D1 Electric Moped Bicycle really banks on providing longevity and fun to its performance and design. Comfortable seating, LED headlight, and rear braking light are also a plus. There are e bikes out there for almost half the price of the FIIDO D1 Moped Electric Bike, but that comes at the cost of so many safety features. In fact, the eAhora X7 costs $1500, and it’s the only other e bike that can match the DI’s safety features, but at nearly three times the cost.

Compared to other entries on our list, the FIIDO D1 Folding Electric Bike performs well, but its safety features put it ahead of the others. Driving 15.5mph for nearly two hours is nothing to sneeze at. Charging time is a bummer, but that’s a small price to pay for an affordable, well-rounded e-bike.
