The Epson VS250 SVGA projector doesn’t boast 4k resolution or stellar sound quality, but it does offer impressive brightness and adjustability at an ultra-affordable price. This isn’t a great home theater projector, but it still does the job serviceably depending on what you expect for resolution and sound. At $360, the Epson VS250 tops off our list for the best business projector.

Why We Like It – Epson VS250

While the Epson VS250 won’t be replacing your home theater projector any time soon, this Epson projector sure does give you bang for your buck. What really stands out on this projector are the 3200 lumens white brightness and color brightness, meaning you don’t need complete darkness to see what’s being projected.

Pros
  • 3200 lumens white brightness and color brightness make for easy viewing
  • Digital zoom to adjust for proper picture size
  • Easy to use horizontal and vertical keystone adjustment
Cons
  • No audio-out jack, external speakers require an extractor
  • Smaller sized text is blurry and hard to read

Performance/Resolution

The VS250 Epson projector has serviceable image quality that’s more than good enough for business presentations and the like. Thanks to its stellar brightness, this Epson projector is a fantastic option for showing off your latest graphs and statistics. Most reviews do note that the lower resolution can make text appear blurry and unreadable at smaller fonts, so keep that in mind when composing a presentation. The 4:3 aspect ratio and 800 x 600 SVGA resolution are nothing to write home about, but plenty of reviewers found it satisfactory even for watching movies and playing games with friends. If you do, however, decide you want an Epson projector with higher resolution, the Epson EX7240 is an excellent choice. Check out the Artlii Pico Projector if you want a projector that can fit easily in your pocket or travel bag.

Brightness/Lumens

Brightness is quite literally where the Epson VS250 shines. With 3200 lumens of both color brightness and white brightness, this projector far exceeds competitors like the Asus Zenbeam E1. The brightness on this projector is absolutely stunning, with images completely visible in brightly lit rooms, which is especially helpful for anyone using this projector for business purposes.

Adjustability/Viewing Angle

The Epson VS250 has both vertical and horizontal keystone correction, both of which make it possible to center your projection just right on the screen. There is also a digital zoom feature for fine-tuning screen size without having to physically move the unit. Most reviewers were more than happy with the adjustability, but some did find issues with the construction of the feet used to adjust the unit’s height. Overall, there are plenty of options on this projector to get the perfect projection for movies, games, and presentations.

Durability

Though the Epson VS250 is not necessarily sold as a portable unit, many reviewers found it worked perfectly for that purpose. The sleek and solid outer construction leaves little to be desired, but Epson does offer a two-year warranty should your projector have any problems. As previously mentioned, some reviewers noted that the adjustable feet were not constructed very well, but these were few and far between.

Value

At $360, the Epson VS250 is one of the best projectors you can buy. It doesn’t match up in visual fidelity to more expensive projectors like the BenQ MH760 1080P Business Projector, but it comes at a far more reasonable price. This projector is great for the business person on the road that wants to have quick and easy access to a projector whenever they need one. And with several input ports like HDMI, USB, and VGA, the Epson VS250 can be hooked up to most devices. Unfortunately, anyone wanting to utilize speakers with their projector will need an adapter, as this unit doesn’t have an audio-out jack.

Epson VS250 Wrap Up

As a business projector, the Epson VS250 is near perfect: though the resolution is substandard for home theater usage and the lack of an audio-output jack is frustrating, this unit is perfectly passable for a business projector and a lightweight, portable one at that. The color brightness and white brightness is outstanding, especially at this price, and the endless adjustability options mean this projector is easy to set up anywhere.
