Why We Like It – Epson EcoTank ET-2750

The Epson EcoTank ET-2750 is a bottle-based, cartridge-free printer that will save you immense money on running costs. Printouts, both monochrome and color, are high quality and the print speed is still more than enough to get you through home office use. Could this make it the best Epson printer to have? Keep reading to find out. But first, to see what other brands offer with the tank ink system, check out our Canon PIXMA G5020 MegaTank inkjet printer review.

Pros
  • Still Good for Home Office Use

Speed

Expression EcoTank ET-2750 Epson Printers have a speed of 8.6ppm for monochrome and 4.8ppm color pages. These speeds are around the same as the Canon PIXMA TR4520; however, the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M479FDW blows them both out of the water at 28ppm. Though they work great as home printers because of this speed, the text-page speed is still lower than the advertised 10.5ppm. If you do require something fast and efficient, consider the HP OfficeJet Pro 9015.

Print Quality

What the Epson EcoTank ET-2750 All-In-One Printer lacks in speed, it makes up for in print quality. Text quality will be fine for almost all home office and business use. Note that small fonts might be a little difficult to read. Photo prints are about on par with what you’d see at the drugstore, and this quality should only increase with photo paper. Consider the HP Designjet T120 for another high-quality output printer.

Efficiency

Epson EcoTank ET-2750 All-In-One Supertank Printers & Scanners feature bottled ink instead of ink cartridges. You fill the ink tank with black ink or color ink via a bottle with a sealed, plastic dock, so you don’t spill the ink. Simply turn the bottle upside down, and the ink will pour itself. Running costs will be a mere 0.3 cents per black page and 0.8 cents for color. Of course, if you’d prefer the ink subscription method, check out the Brother Inkjet Printer MFC-J985DW.

Advanced Features

Connectivity features on the Epson EcoTank ET-2750 include Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, and USB 2.0. It lacks Ethernet, but that’s common with home printers. You can print from your phone or tablet via the Epson Connect app for iOS and Android. You can also print via Epson Email Print and Epson Remote Print which allows you to send documents to the printer via email to print. The preferred email for printing can be set during the initial set-up phase.

Value

While the Epson EcoTank ET-2750 can print, copy, and scan, it cannot fax. But in reality, fax isn’t the most pressing feature when you have email. And while the printer does have support for SD memory cards, it lacks a USB Thumb Drive. The paper tray is average and can store 100 sheets of plain paper or 20 sheets of premium photo paper. On the plus side, the printer does support auto-duplexing, so this paper capacity is more like 200 sheets.

Epson EcoTank ET-2750 Wrap Up

The biggest benefit of the Epson EcoTank ET2750 is the pleasingly low running costs. But is this enough to make you forget about its hefty price tag? Well, that’s up to you to decide. But if you choose to bite the bullet, the printer will provide you with great-quality text, graphics, and photo printouts perfect for casual, home-office use.
