Retailing at about $700, the Dacor model DMW 24205 microwave is one of the more high-end models that we’ve ever been able to review. Being a premium model, it’s packed with all the features that you would want to use and enjoy from a microwave on a day-to-day basis. For a quick look at two other units before moving on with this review, check out the Frigidaire built-in microwave and the Cuisinart CMW-200.

The Dacor countertop microwave has a capacity of up to 2 cubic feet and is very much suited for use by a small to medium size family. The stainless steel microwave oven is also capable of convection cooking, but whether it’s the best convection microwave around is a whole other discussion. Go ahead and get through our review to find out whether it could be the best microwave for you.

Why We Like It – Dacor DMW2420S

The Dacor DMW2420S microwave might be arguably expensive, but it comes packed with features that make it perfect for a wide range of uses. The microwave’s got sensor cooking to automatically decide on which power settings to apply, and up to 11 power levels to choose from.

Power & Performance

There’s a lot that you’ll be able to do with up to 1100 Watts in power output, more so than with the 800 Watts on the Equator 0.8 microwave convection oven. The DMW2420S Dacor microwave is more than capable of having your food well cooked, and even without the grilling element that you’ll find with the Samsung MC12J8035CT 1.2 cu ft microwave, you should still be able to brown or crisp your food to a good extent. One other highlight of this microwave is that it’s got an auto start option that you can use to program it to start cooking at a designated time, saving you even more time in the kitchen.

Like most microwaves, the Dacor DMW2420S is made up of silver color stainless steel, which is very easy to clean, and isn’t likely to leave fingerprints as you use. The microwave features a push to release button that leaves it with a clean, smooth finish, and its removable glass turntable can be cleaned even in the dishwasher if you so wish. The stainless steel DMW2420S countertop microwave oven is also backed by an impressive 10 year warranty, which is way more than the 1 year cover that you’ll get with the Farberware Black FMO10AHDBKC microwave, so if anything, this should be enough evidence that you’re going to use it for a long time before you need to get a new one. Ease of Use

A lot of modern microwaves nowadays are designed with ease of use in mind. The Dacor microwave is one such example, and this is evident from all its well labelled touch key controls. You’ll easily be able to read off what each button does, and despite having a lot more controls than the BLACK+DECKER EM720CB7 Microwave Oven, you’ll never get confused as to what the function of each button is. Consider the Farberware Black FMO10AHDBKC  if you want a grilling feature in your microwave oven.

Added Features & Versatility

The Dacor microwave features up to 11 preset power levels, offering a diverse range of options so that you’ll be able to get the most accurate results when you use it to cook. The microwave also has three defrost options, where there’s a specific setting for thawing entrees, snacks and vegetables. Also worth mentioning is the keep warm feature that the microwave uses to make sure that your food stays warm after it’s done cooking but you haven’t yet taken it out of the microwave.

Getting a microwave that can also cook via convection is very beneficial since for starters, it’ll be able to cook your food way faster than a regular microwave, and it’ll also be able to brown the outside of your food without drying inside. There’s also an “easy minute” button on it that gets the microwave started at 100% power for whenever you’re in a hurry and want to warm your food very fast.

Dacor DMW2420S Wrap Up

If you’d rather have the Dacor microwave built into your kitchen cabinetry, you can opt to purchase a trim kit for easier installation, and this might be a great way to have it stay flush with your kitchen wall.
