It can be hard to decide on the Best Air Purifier considering there are so many nowadays, like the many we review on Gadget Review. Check out our Homedics AP T40 review, Figo ThinkGA car ionizer air purifier, Autowit car air purifier review, and Elgato Eve air quality room sensor review, for other great devices.
But if you’re considering looking at the best air purifier for allergies and asthma or a great air purifier for baby, you would do well to review Coway Mighty AP1512HH for its quietness and energy-saving capabilities.
Like the Coway Airmega 400, Coway AP1512HH Air Purifiers are great four-stage filtration machines that cover an absurdly large area and use True HEPA Filters to ensure all airborne contaminants are safely stowed away. If that’s not enough to sell you on the unit, the incredibly low power consumption means you’ll be paying much less per year to run it.
The Coway Mighty AP1512HH features a four-stage filtration system for air purification. This includes a pre-filter to capture large particles, an activated carbon filter to deodorize and trap harmful gasses, and an ionizer that boosts the freshness of the air. The best part is that the ionizer can be switched off if you’re worried about the potential ozone it can unleash. But, compare products before buying, which includes the Conway 1512 vs 1514 air purifiers.
The AP1512HH is a powerful air purifier that can supply a room of approximately 465 square feet with clean air. This is already excellent coverage, but you can check out the BlueAir Classic 605 if you’d like something with even better coverage. Further, with Eco Mode turned on, the Coway’s power consumption could be as little as five watts, saving you money on your energy bills.
The AP1512HH uses a True HEPA Filter that can capture 99.97% of airborne particles as small as 0,3 microns. These airborne particles include, but aren’t limited just to, dust pollen, allergens, mold, and fungi. The filter replacement indicator also lets you know when it’s time to replace the filter. It will differ from house to house, but filters do tend to last about one year.
The noise level of the AP1512HH is between 24-54dB, depending on what fan speeds (there are three) you have selected. Even though it may be a little loud on the high end, it will still amount to nothing more than some pleasant white noise. It also weighs less than 10 pounds, so you can move it from room to room very easily.
The air quality indicator lets you know the current condition of the room’s air quality and, if set to auto mode, will adjust settings accordingly to fit the needs of the room. If there’s one little nitpick, it’s that the light at the top of the unit cannot be turned off. So if you’re thinking that you’ll get this for your bedroom and you dislike sleeping with a nightlight, you may be out of luck.
The best part, I find, about the Coway AP1512HH is that you can turn the ionizer off. You’d be surprised how many air purifiers don’t give you that option. And if you’re buying this for a baby’s room, it’s an especially important feature considering it could irritate a baby’s lungs, not to mention your own.
