With a moderate weight (0.6 lbs) and large earcups, the Beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO are relatively comfortable headphones that could feel tight only during long listening sessions.
There’s no ANC and minimal noise isolation because they’re open-back, but the build quality is quite durable with a dense and sturdy metal frame. Still, the open-back earcups are plastic, so they aren’t as rugged as the rest of the body.
The headphones are great for neutral listening, with a wide soundstage and detailed sound quality, especially instruments and vocals, but they lack onboard controls and leak too much audio for shared spaces.
Connectivity is wired with a 1/8″ TRS non-detachable cable and bass accuracy is excellent and well-balanced across the range, with additional emphasis on the high bass.
