To determine the best water flosser, we focused on the most important features — different pressure settings, water reservoir size, ease of use, attachments, and value-added features. While we reviewed a mix of corded and cordless models, we took note of which brands offered the most water pressure settings within their respective categories as well as the water reservoir size. We considered how many attachments were included with each water flosser model, as well as any intuitive value-added features would help to improve the functionality and ease of use. If you are planning to add this device to your list of bathroom essentials, read on.
After taking all of the above into account, we selected the H2Ofloss Dental Water Flosser as our Top Pick. You’ll note that because of the modest MSRP, this is also our Best Budget choice. This at-home corded water flosser features a generous 27-ounce water reservoir, six pressure settings, and 12 multifunctional tips to support traditional flossing as well as specialized cleaning for orthodontic and periodontic needs.
Award: Top Pick
WHY WE LIKE IT: A water flosser with a massive reservoir, 12 multifunctional tips, and whisper-quiet operation makes this perfect for regular at-home use.
There’s nothing worse than having to refill your water reservoir while you’re in the middle of flossing your teeth. This is why we’ve selected the H2ofloss Dental Water Flosser as our Top Pick. With the 27-ounce capacity reservoir, you’ll be able to thoroughly floss your teeth uninterrupted. Plus the five-mode operation gives you the ability to adjust the pressure from five to 110PSI and even offers a pause option on the handle.
The 12 multifunctional tips that are included give you versatility and make this ideal for shared use. This includes four regular jet tips (one for each person), two tongue cleaning tips, two orthodontic tips, and two periodontal tips. And there are even two nasal tips. You’ll also like that you can keep the tips stored on this device for easy access. Don’t forget to also check out the best electric toothbrush.
Award: Honorable Mention
WHY WE LIKE IT: An ADA approved water flosser that comes with seven flossing tips, 10 pressure settings, and a timer/pacer feature to help improve your at-home flossing routine.
When you’re working on maintaining or improving your dental health, seeing that seal of approval from the American Dental Association can give you the peace of mind that you need. This is why we’ve selected the Waterpik Aquarius WP-662 Water Flosser as our Honorable Mention. In addition to being one of the few water flossers on our list with this distinction, it also comes with a one-minute timer and a 30-second spacer feature to help you meet ADA recommendations that you floss for at least a minute per flossing period.
In addition to the above, with this Aquarius Water Flosser, you’ll enjoy a 22-ounce water reservoir and 10 pressure settings that let you cycle between 10 to 100PSI as well as toggle between floss and massage modes. With the seven flosser tips, you get three classic jet tips, one plaque seeker tip, one orthodontic tip, one periodontal tip, and one toothbrush tip. A flosser is one of the best bathroom essentials we all have. You might also want to check out the best toothbrush holder.

Award: Best Travel
WHY WE LIKE IT: A waterproof water flosser with a 10-ounce detachable reservoir and USB charging make this ideal for maintaining your dental hygiene when you’re on the go.
You shouldn’t sacrifice your oral hygiene just because you’re traveling. And in particular, the last thing you want to deal with if you’re traveling is finding compatible power outlets for your charging plugs. We’ve picked the MosPro Water Flosser as the best travel-friendly option. This flosser charges via USB, meaning that you can use an external charger, your car charger, or even your laptop to recharge it. And you can expect to use this flosser for seven to 10 days before it needs to be recharged.
In addition to the above, you’ll love that this flosser is waterproof with an IPX7 rating. That means you can floss in the shower to save time. And the completely detachable water tank means you won’t deal with spills in your travel bag. Plus, you can easily clean the reservoir between uses. This model — as is standard with the travel-friendly water flossers — offers three flossing modes, four standard jet tips, and a USB cable. You can also read about the best kid’s toothpaste.
Award: Best Portable
WHY WE LIKE IT: A simplified cordless water flosser that comes with two speeds and is collapsible for storage in tight spaces.
If you’re brushing and flossing after every meal this means that you need to bring your dental gear with you to work. So, you might not have the counter space to devote to some of the larger travel-friendly water flosser models on our list. In that case, the Panasonic EW-DJ10-A Cordless Dental Water Flosser is the perfect solution. The biggest draw with this water flosser is that it’s completely collapsible with a compact design that can easily fit into a backpack side pocket or a small purse.
While this model has the second smallest water reservoir (at 5.5 ounces), you still get two pressure settings. And as opposed to the other travel-friendly models on our list, Panasonic’s model relies on actual batteries instead of USB charging. But you’ll enjoy the waterproof design that makes this safe for use in the shower. Also, check out the best floss.
Award: Best Battery Life
WHY WE LIKE IT: A long-lasting water flosser with a 20-day runtime between charges is combined with a waterproof rating and large reservoir for extended use on vacations and business trips.
The biggest benefit of a travel-friendly flosser is that you can keep your oral hygiene intact while you’re away from home. But what sets the NiceFeel Cordless Water Flosser apart from the other travel flossers on our list is that this offers the longest battery life between charges. With a single four-hour USB charge, you can enjoy up to 20 days of flossing power before this item needs to be recharged.
With that feature aside, this model is on par with most of the other travel water flossers on our list. You’ll get four jet tip flosser heads, three pressure settings, an IPX7 waterproof rating, and a 10-ounce completely detachable water reservoir. However, as compared to some travel water flossers, the NiceFeel model comes with a carrying case for two floss heads. The best lighted makeup mirror can also help to check your teeth.
Award: Best Ergonomic Flosser
WHY WE LIKE IT: An easy to grip travel-friendly water flosser with the ADA Seal of Acceptance that features multiple flossing head styles and travel tote.
We’re featuring WaterPik again, but this time with a travel-friendly cordless option. You’ll note that just like the #2 Honorable Mention choice, this model also features the ADA Seal of Acceptance. And this is because WaterPik is the only water flosser brand that has been reviewed and approved by the ADA.
While this cordless model does have the smallest reservoir (at four ounces) of the travel-friendly water flossers on our list, you still get many of the standard features seen in the travel category. This includes three pressure speeds, multiple flosser tips, a travel case for the flosser tips, and a microfiber bag to hold the base, travel case, and charging cord. You might also like the best shower caddy.
Award: Best Quality
WHY WE LIKE IT: A streamlined travel-friendly waterproof water flosser with multiple flosser tips that features an auto timer to ensure proper dental hygiene.
The Zerhunt Cordless Water Flosser is a budget-friendly portable water flosser that’s designed with travel in mind. But what sets it apart from the other travel water flossers is that it’s the only cordless flosser with a timer. It’s preset to automatically shut off after two minutes of use. Aside from this core feature, it is relatively comparable to the other cordless water flossers on our list.
You’ll like the three water pressure settings, the detachable 10-ounce reservoir, and the USB charging that can fully charge this flosser in four hours for up to 20 days of continuous use. This model comes with six detachable flosser tips — four that are standard jet tips, one dental plaque tip, and one periodontal tip. Plus this Zerhunt model features an IPX7 waterproof rating for use in the shower. Other musts for your bathroom include the best shower curtain and the best shower curtain liner.
It’s a known fact that most people don’t floss properly — if at all. So, water flossers can be a more efficient and thorough way of checking off an essential dental hygiene task. But there are so many options on the market. To determine the best water flossers, we look at the following criteria: pressure settings, water reservoir size, ease of use, attachments, and value-added features.
It’s important to note that if you’re concerned about buying a dental appliance and are only comfortable selecting something with an ADA seal of approval, focus solely on our #2 Honorable Mention, and #6 choices. Both are Waterpik models, and Waterpik is the only brand that is approved by the ADA for water flossing.
We started our search by looking at pressure settings. For the most part, we found that larger at-home corded models offered more pressure settings than travel-friendly options. Whereas our Top Pick and Honorable Mention models offered anywhere from six to 10 pressure settings, most of the cordless models — except for #4 — offer three pressure settings that include a gum massaging mode.
Next, we looked at the water reservoirs. By default, corded models feature significantly larger water reservoirs. Our Top Pick and Honorable Mention offer 27 and 22-ounce reservoirs respectively. In contrast, the travel-friendly cordless models ranged in reservoir size from four to 10 ounces. But specifically for the cordless models, we prioritized those with completely detachable reservoirs. Only #4 and #6 lacked a detachable reservoir. This can be an issue for some people because it will make it harder to thoroughly clean the reservoir between uses to prevent limescale or product buildup.
In terms of ease of use, all of the models on our list featured straight forward operation that makes it easy for even the most tech-averse to master. However, our #4 selection might be ideal for people who are traveling light or focus on oral care while at work or the gym. The Panasonic EW-DJ10-A Cordless Dental Water Flosser’s compact design makes it especially suited for someone with braces or aligners who is required to thoroughly floss after every meal. Likewise, all of the water flossers we featured in this guide are rated for use across a range of dental issues that include braces/aligners, bridgework, dental implants, or people with sensitive gums.
For attachments, we looked at the types of flosser tips that were included with each water flosser. At a minimum, all of the flossers come standard with multiple classic jet tips — making it ideal for shared use. But if you have specific dental needs like periodontal pocket cleaning or orthodontic cleaning around braces, focus on our #1, #2, and #7. The remaining models (#3, #4, #5, and #6) only come with multiple classic jet tips.
And finally we looked at value-added features. This included options like a timer/spacer (#2 & #7), USB charging (#3, #5, and #7), waterproof rating (#3, #4, #5, #6, and #7), and travel cases or totes (#5 and #6).
Another popular choice that just missed our list was the Philips Sonicare AirFloss. The Sonicare AirFloss cleans your entire mouth in 30 seconds and removes up to 5X more plaque than a manual toothbrush alone. However, the Sonicare AirFloss is not an oral irrigator and does not use water to flush throughout the mouth.
