Say what you want about the VR hype in 2016 – the experience is real and the trend is certain. While still a pricey system for early adopters – manufacturers are taking advantage of Black Friday week to entice tech and game lovers to take the plunge. Announced earlier this week, HTC has confirmed that there will be some Black Friday deals this year for the HTC Vive – though if you were expecting a sudden massive discount you can continue dreaming.
Update: HTC Vive is now discounted by another $100 on Microsoft Store with $100 gift code bonus still included.
HTC Vive Black Friday Deals
- HTC Vive VR System + $100 Gift Code — $699 at Microsoft Store
- Free shipping, gift code sent to you in 10-20 days
The HTC Vive will be discounted by $100 (or 100 GBP/EUR) at participating retailer during this holiday weekend. Note that the deal has also extended to online retailers such as Amazon, GameStop, Newegg, and of course the official Vive.com website.
The kicker is that you’ll still need to wait until Friday tomorrow to score the Vive deal (and potentially dealing with stock issues at your retailer of choice). Thankfully, Microsoft Store has jumped the gun and is already offering the HTC Vive on their site with the Black Friday special.
From now through November 28 if you buy a HTC Vive at Microsoft Store, you’ll receive a $100 bonus gift code – good towards anything on Microsoft Store (PC/Xbox games or other hardware that Microsoft carries). Unlike the other retailer deals, this isn’t a straight up discount – but it is available now without delay/wait.
Both the Cyber Monday and Black Friday deals -at least authorized ones – will be the same, so you can comfortably pick up the deal today if you’re interested in the VR unit from HTC. For everyone else prefering the straight up discount instead of a gift code, check back Friday and we’ll update with links to each participating retailer as the deals appear.
