The Beats Studio Buds offer neutral sound, a comfortable fit, button-based controls, and a durable IPX4-rated charging case, making it a great option for those looking for sports earbuds. However, those who need good quality ANC should strictly avoid it.
The Beats Studio Buds are a high-end closed-back wireless device that was first brought to the market in mid-2021, and it boasts active noise cancellation technology for music enthusiasts and office goers commuting through noisy environments.
Just like some of the best-rated headphones in its range, this device has the newer Bluetooth 5.2 standard for efficient wireless sound transmission without using a lot of battery.
But unlike the most popular wireless earbuds on the market, these earphones don’t have multi-device pairing or NFC support.
This device has buttons on each bud that you can press to access its control layout. However, if you prefer a pair of earbuds that come with a neckband from the same manufacturer, then make sure to take a look at our Beats Flex Wireless Earphones review.
The Beats Studio Buds also come with an integrated microphone to take incoming calls on the go.

our Verdict
The Beats Studio Buds are a great option for those looking for sports earbuds with a neutral sound profile with detailed highs and mids.
While it does feature Bluetooth 5.2, it sadly doesn’t have multi-device pairing or a built-in H1 chip for easy pairing. And its continuous battery life is also fairly poor compared to the competition, as it was tested at just five hours with ANC.
It offers a comfortable fit thanks to its stemless in-ear design with silicone tips. However, its ANC does not perform very well. For better ANC earbuds, check our Beats Fit Pro review.
The Beats Studio Buds offer button-based controls to avoid misinputs. And it comes with a fairly durable IPX4 water-resistant case for water splashes, but it doesn’t have wireless charging.

The Beats Studio Buds have active noise cancellation technology in order to block out irritating ambient sounds, but the Sony WF-C500 in-ear earbuds don’t. Still, the Sony WF-C500 surprisingly blocks out more ambient noise passively than the Beats Studio Buds do, even with active noise cancellation enabled. It also has a significantly better overall sound quality compared to the Beats Studio Buds, which audiophile users should prefer. And the Sony WF-C500 wireless earbuds have manual EQ adjustment inside the Sony Headphones Connect app, unlike Beats.

While the Beats Studio Buds are truly in-ear earbuds that come with silicone ear tips, the Apple AirPods (3rd generation) earbuds sit outside the users’ ear canals, as they don’t have soft ear tips. So, the Beats Studio Buds are significantly more comfortable for listening to music for long hours compared to the Apple AirPods. The Beats Studio Buds also have a better fit for laborious work like exercising than the Apple AirPods. In addition, the Beats Studio Buds support active noise cancellation technology in order to block ambient sounds, unlike the base Apple AirPods.

The newer Beats Studio Buds are the direct successor to the older Beats Powerbeats Pro wireless earbuds. And the biggest difference between the two devices is that the new Beats Studio Buds offer active noise cancellation technology to block out background noise, but the Beats Powerbeats Pro earbuds don’t. It also suffers from less audio leakage compared to the older Beats Powerbeats Pro. However, the Beats Powerbeats Pro earbuds do have built-in ear hooks that offer a more stable fit. And it has an H1 chip for seamlessly pairing with Apple devices.

The Beats Solo Pros are full-fledged on-ear wireless headphones, whereas the Beats Studio Buds, as the name suggests, are in-ear earbuds. As a result, the Beats Solo Pro has a significantly better implementation of active noise cancellation when put against the Beats Studio Buds. It also has a much better and more durable build quality compared to the Beats Studio Buds. Additionally, the Beats Solo Pro headphones have a much more nuanced and neutral sound quality as against the Beats Studio Buds, with a more balanced, true-to-life audio output.
