Back to the Future is, in my opinion, the greatest movie trilogy ever made. I could quote all three films line by line, but I’ll save you the torture. Instead, check out this Back to the Future Flux Capacitor Wristwatch from ThinkGeek. It’s a truly unique nerdtacular watch that shows you the time and date in a look modeled after Doc Brown’s Flux Capacitor.
There’s also a “Time Travel” mode which features light animation and random date display. Unfortunately, it doesn’t really allow you to travel through time (bummer). If you’re looking for a great Christmas gift for a geek, this officially-licensed Back to the Future watch is the way to go. The flux capacitor watch even comes in a cool BTTF presentation box. There’s a learning curve to actually using the watch to tell time, though. Time is divided into hours, minutes first digit, minutes second digit, so 10 lights, 5 lights, 3 lights = 10:53. It sounds confusing at first, but honestly who cares what time it is when you’ve got a flux capacitor on your wrist?
As if this watch were made out of some sort of futuristic lightweight alloy, it weighs just 5.8 ounces. However, it’s really made out of stainless steel (like the DeLorean). You won’t need to get the watch up to a speed of 88 mph to get it to work, though — it runs on a CR2032 battery. So if your movie-loving significant other is more into Marty McFly than Martin Riggs, head on over to ThinkGeek.com to pick up the Flux Capacitor Wristwatch for $49.99.
