The air in our home is one of the most important factors when it comes to our health. If the air quality is bad, that will impact your health adversely. This is why we are always looking for the best air purifier. This product, the Alen BreatheSmart Home Air Purifier, could be one of the best on paper, but how does it fare in real life? Read on and find out. I recently spent a month testing this air purifier, and I certainly wasn’t disappointed.
I loved the Breathesmart classic air purifier because it has a great design and gives you lots of customization options. Most people don’t like big ugly boxes in their room, clashing with their decor. Luckily this one blends in a little better. You can buy interchangeable front faceplates in fourteen colors. If you’re still not sold, give the Honeywell True HEPA air filter review a read too. Are you also looking to heat your space? Check out this list to find the best large space heater for your home.
However, it has a lot more than that going for it. Say goodbye to airborne particles and airborne pollutants like allergens, dust pollen, and smoke odors. Your indoor air is about to get much cleaner. If you want a more aesthetic way to keep your air pure, check out our review of the Purifan air purifier (which keeps your air clean through the ceiling fan).
The design is amazing. As mentioned you get a bunch of color options with optional faceplates. One can even be painted to your liking. The streamlined shape almost makes it look like art rather than a cold and sterile appliance. I can tell you from experience that you just don’t see many air purifiers that look half as cool. It is also built durable. If you are rough on devices like this, it can take it. If you want a device that’s a bit smaller, you should also read our review of the Atmotube portable air pollution monitor.
The BreatheSmart uses a three-stage process to filter the air. Air gets pulled into the unit, passes over a pre-filter that surrounds the primary HEPA filter, and then exits the unit after passing through an optional ionization field activated at the control panel. This HEPA air purifier will work great in any room but is perfect for large family rooms and other large open spaces up to 1100 SqFt like the Alen BreatheSmart classic large room air purifier. That is quite a bit of coverage. I recommend using the ionization feature in a room of at least 200 sq ft and keeping it away from furniture and walls, so the ozone doesn’t mess up anything in the room.
That 3 stage filtration system is top-notch, as it works to help the filtration of allergens. Meaning, it has a very powerful filtration system. Aside from that, there are other great features like the fact that it is very quiet and generates a pleasant white noise kind of sound. Auto mode cleans the air all day and night, so it’s good that it is also energy-efficient, using just 105 watts on the turbo setting. There’s also a built-in timer, filter life indicator light, On/Off ring and lights-off feature, air quality indicator, and a particle air sensor that detects allergens in the air. There surely is a lot to love about this feature set. The filter life timer is especially useful.
So how did the Breathesmart Classic perform? This air cleaner stopped my sneezing and stuffy nose almost right away. I also saw the amount of dust in my home go down drastically after the first few days. I leave it running all the time, making the air clean. Among keeping the air clean, the different speeds it has will determine how quickly or slowly your air will be cleansed each hour.
Aside from cleaning the air, it excels at getting rid of odors and smoke. You may want to check out the Airthereal APH260 if you want an air purifier with an air quality sensor. I noticed that I had to clean the prefilter fairly often, though. Maybe once every 12 days, which is a fair trade-off for the quality air it pumps out.
Yet, with the inclusion of the True HEPA filter for allergens and dust, this 3-stage air purifier makes it easy to eliminate allergies from any living space.
I can’t recommend this classic air purifier highly enough. But for those who want more options from this brand, you’ll want to check out the Alen BreatheSmart 75i.
The Breathesmart HEPA air purifier is a top-of-the-line air purifier. Alen Breathesmart Air purifiers are on the expensive side, but well worth it, considering how effortlessly it provides clean air and alleviates allergies. The fact that the Breathesmart air purifier is designed so beautifully and is so customizable is just a bonus. The fact that it is energy efficient and energy-star rated means less power consumption and less money spent.
If you suffer from allergies, this is the air-cleaning system that you want. It will also eliminate things like cooking odors, wildfire smoke, dust mites, pet odor, and pet hair dander. The noise levels are just white noise and peaceful. Don’t even hesitate. Just get one. You need a HEPA filter for allergies, as this model has. This kind of filter for allergy pollen is a must, especially since it utilizes advanced air purification technology. It is a top air purifier with maximum coverage, fan speeds, and a lifetime warranty.
I would say this air purifier for smoke beats models like the AeraMax 300, Airocide air purifier, or any comparable model from Austin Air and even the Breathesmart fit50, Breathesmart 45i, and Breathesmart Flex. Alens air purifiers are just superb. Your air quality will be much improved.
